I bought this to correct a slight chemical imbalance in my tank. I have had a chronic algae problem, unclear water, and have tried numerous solutions, including several UV sterilizers. After a day or two of using this, my tank is crystal clear! I couldn't believe it!

Absolutely great product. I was doubtful at first as I couldn't find a lot of reviews but within a week my nitrate tests had dropped from dark red (160ppm) to nice pale yellow (0-5ppm).Fish all look a lot happier.

I bought the API NITRA-ZORB to tackle ammonia and nitrate issues in my newly established tank, which was unusually cloudy and had stubborn levels. Despite having cycled tanks, this time was different, and I needed a solution fast. The results were impressive! In just one day, my water cleared up, and the levels normalized. I was surprised at how quickly it worked. I'll definitely be using this again if I run into the same problem. The only downside is the pouch design. As others have mentioned, it’s flimsy and could tear easily, especially when rinsing or adding it to the filter. It’s also a bit large for my Top Fin Silenstream filter, but that's my oversight. This product works! Highly recommend!

I have been struggling in keeping my newly established fish tank water parameters to optimum levels .Doing a lot of RO water changes and testing several times can be so frustrating . I customized Nitrasorb media bag to fit in the 20 gal HOB filter pump - nitrate from 40 to 5 ppm ;nitrite from 2 to 0;ammonia from 2 to 0 just in 1 week.So happy for these amazing results! I will always use this product as part of aquarium comprehensive maintenance .

I noticed that my goldish had streaks of blood in his fins. The water was also cloudy. Testing my levels, we needed help w the nitrates.I purchased this, along w a liquid enzyme and saw IMMEDIATE and LASTING results in my 75 gallon tank. It’s been well over a month and the water is crystal clear and my fishies are looking better than ever. The speed, performance, ease of use and results were WELL worth the money.I haven’t needed to ‘reset’ it to use it again but even if I only use it once, it made all the difference!

I was having problems with my cichlids behaving sluggishly and some were dying. My Nitrates were very high. Water changes just weren't bringing them down. Within a week after using this product, my levels were normal and the fish were perky and eating well again. One packet fits nicely in my Aqueon 75 filter. I bought 2 and exchange them every 2 weeks when I do my water change. I store one in a mason jar while it is re-charging. I use regular salt in the charging solution. I also added a stone aeration bubbler to my tank, which is supposed to help. I will keep checking my nitrates and see how long these 2 packets last until I need to replace them.

I’m writing a review before even trying it because i attempted to use it and the packet broke open and spewed into my tank tiny granules and a cloud of white. My fish were eating the granules thinking they were food. Next thing i knew one of the fish was gasping for air at the top of the tank. Be careful. Maybe this is my fault since i should have known the packet was too big for my filter before trying to jam it in, but if you need to, buy smaller filter media bags to put some of it into. I will be doing that.

I used a 1/4 pouch for my 10 gallon which is heavily stocked. Ammonia and Nitrite are fine, but Nitrates build up fast even with lots of water changes. I weighed out 50 grams (1/4) and used a 180 micron bag (its fine beeds) so don't use regular media bag. I would have used the whole pouch but its to large for my aquaclear 30. I was at about 40ppm or higher and tested it 18 hours later and its down to 5ppm. That's the lowest I ever seen that aquarium.... And since it can be recharged for 2 months and I only had to use a 1/4 pouch, that will give me 8 to 10 months of use..... Its not cheap, but it actually works and works within 24 hours, not 3 - 6 months like bio media. So its actually a good deal.Update: After 3 days in the aquarium, the nitrates do not even register on the test.... Will recharge at the 5 day point as per the instructions.... So far a product that actually does what it claims.

¡Tomó el ligero color causado por la madera del acuario, pero no hizo ninguna diferencia con los nitratos en absoluto! Decepcionante, porque eso es lo que lo compré!

The changes in nitrate and ammonia levels are very modest and requires many regenerations before any detectable change. This media may absorb nitrates in single digit PPM levels before it needs to be regenerated.

I was leary to use this due to all the negative feedback but I love it! It works if you have patience. I have high nitrate and nitrites in my well water so I had to get some water from a different source. Test your tap water, if it has high nitrites and nitrates you will always battle this problem. I used Nitra-Zorb on 3 tanks. A 29 gallon tank with 3 fish, half well water and ozarka water. It took well over a month with small water changes to get this tank showing no ammonia, nitrates or nitrites. My second tank ( 10 gallons ) was 50% my water-50% ozarka water with many normal water changes it settled a lot quicker. My third tank ( 20 gallons ) I used 50% water from a friends house and 50% ozarka water with no fish in the tank. This tank took almost 2 months to settle down. It showed high ammonia, nitrites and nitrate levels. How a tank with no fish and a new start up has high ammonia is beyond me.I think the key to my success was follow the directions on the package. You have to recharge it in a salt solution every 5 days ( recipe is on the bag ). Also when you do a water change you have to use Stress Coat and Stress Zyme, Accu Clear products. I also used the API start up kits. The key here is patience! I also use the API Superclean Power Filter 5-20. I use size 6 Nitra Zorb. I have to fold the pouch in half to get it to fit. Once your water tests normal store the Nitra Zorb bag in the saltwater solution.
