Recomendable. Parece resistente.

I own 5 stereo microscopes from AmScope, Swift, Boreal, and National Optical. Each has issues with lamp brightness, field of vision, ease (or lack of it) of switching out the 10X/20X eyepiece, etc. In absolute frustration I ordered these for my younger students and yet realized immediately that it would have been better for me to invest in many of these over one higher end scope. The detail, light intensity, ease of use (eyepieces switch out so simply!), etc. are perfect. The price is perfect. It lacks lower/upward illumination but for a Geology class, these are perfect.

The optics in this low-magnification stereoscopic microscope are free of perceptible distortion, and the illuminator and focus mechanism work properly.I bought it because as a child I used one in a biology class which my father attended, and was fascinated to be able to see small objects in such detail. This microscope does that as well, and does it well.It has shortcomings, such as straight-through optics, so one must look straight down at the sample, and small lenses, so one must be careful not to move one's eyes from directly over the eyepieces. Then again, it was not intended as a professional tool. Those cost between 5X and 50X as much. But for the price and for its intended use it is an excellent product. And it's a lot of fun.

Not very good, very basic. Focussing a bit hit-and-miss. Okay for my grandson, but not very powerful magnification. Emailed the supplier, no reply, terrible after-sales service.

I'm a research scientist by day and a proud dad by night. My son is five years old and very curious about the world around him. When I saw him using a magnifying glass on just about everything, I thought of getting him a dissecting microscope. I knew what to get him, but not where and turned to Amazon's extensive inventory.Unskilled adults have a hard time keeping one eye closed at all times while looking under a monocular microscope's ocular lens and keeping the right distance to the ocular glass eyepiece. So I knew an adjustable binocular would be better than a monocular scope. Then I didn't want his first introduction to be more then 100X magnification because he would not yet understand that level of microbiology or small size anatomy and I feared would turn him off his first experience if he could not recognize some aspects of what he was seeing. So I knew a 40X to 60X binocular dissecting microscope with a light source was my preference instead of a 100X plus, monocular microscope. That's when I found this product just for kids. I read the description and knew this was the product I had been looking for. An added bonus was it's sturdy construction with adjustable eyepieces and macro-focus knob. Two stage clips that will let you ad slides later on. It even included a plastic dust cover. It arrived in a very well protected package and on time. I'm very happy with the purchase and my son has spent many hours thinking of new things to look at in his new microscope.Would strongly recommend this product to anyone with a desire to exchange your child's curiosity about the small world around them.

Just took it out of the box, and so far so good. This portable stereoscope is made from very lightweight plastic, and perfect for exploring and uncovering the wonders to be found when taking a closer 3-D look at bugs, rocks, shells, plants, etc. with children. Decent resolution and optics, and built in LED light source (battery powered) -- inexpensive enough to be enthusiastically "manhandled" by a younger child. Came with five prepared/stained glass slides and a lovely plastic embedded iridescent junebug. Seems like a pretty good value at $40!
