I was going to order a different model, but someone pointed out this microscope will still be stereo, even when the camera port is in use. Total game changer. Too bad it didn't come packaged with a stand, but that was just a short search away. I've used the microscope every day since I got it for my watchmaking hobby and it has been a total game changer. Plenty of light gets through and very easy to use, once set up correct. Love it and glad I went trinocular route!

Bought this just for flexibility. Between the range of ocular and barlow lenses available I can adjust magnification level by reducing or increasing it power. This model can use both eyepieces and the camera simultaneously. It does need a ring light, though I was able to use an inexpensive task lamp. I picked up the head individually since I was undecided on whether to use a boom stand or an articulating arm. The savings from buying a kit versus individual components was minimal. My main concern was the quality of the lenses and whether I could use both eyepieces while using a camera.

Now that I've used this microscope for a while now I can say for sure that it has a eyes fatigue issue. Is way off. After approx 1 min you start to feel that you eyes are in pain. I have a Leica MZ6 at work and I can't work for a while without any problems. With this one I'm afraid to use it for a long time since my vision is valuable or it would be fair to say that it has no price.

Excellent quality as expected from AmScope. Having the trinocular port really helps when recording video as you don't loose the ability to use both eyes to keep working.

I've been a very happy Amscope user for years, with my only complaint being the terrible mechanism for switching the camera port on and off. This head solves that problem perfectly - the camera port is always on. If you have the head with the sliding bar and you use your camera port a lot, you should consider replacing it with this one, with the only downside being that you will then have an extra head.If you are building a new microscope and want a camera port, you should definitely use this one rather than the standard head with the sliding rod.
