I want to start this out by saying "bear with me" as to why I'm giving this a three-star review...I want to first state as a matter of fact that I'm a big fan of Anycubic printers and own several and really think this model is worth every penny, it's a great printer at a great price point...BUT...This printer is marketed and pushed heavily as a multi-color and 'exotic' filament printer and literally every review I have seen online emphasizes these features because all those reviewers were provided the 'combo' version that comes with the ACE Pro filament device to review... But I'm not reviewing the 'combo' pack, I'm reviewing just the printer... And when it comes to just the printer as seen here, I see quite a diminished appeal as you can't realistically print many of the 'exotic' filaments, nor do you get the multi-color option, you are basically left with just a really nice single color PLA printer until you invest more money... Again this is a really nice printer, it works GREAT out of the box and it's very user-friendly... The lack of these features (no multi-color, no dryer) would earn it a four-star review but there is more and the reason I dropped it down to three-stars... That being even if I wanted to upgrade to multi-color and dryer there does not appear to be that option available at this time, the only Ace Pro on Amazon clearly says..."Anycubic ACE Pro for Kobra 3 cannot be adapted to the Anycubic Kobra S1 directly...........upgrade your ACE Pro (for Anycubic Kobra 3) with additional accessories"What those other accessories are, where one would get them and their additional cost is unknown, and when I go directly to Anycubic's website the ACE Pro for the S1 is not available either at this time...This leaves the buyer with a printer that is capable of doing much more (and I hope to do those things someday) but at this time it's crippled...Also there are a few other issues, one being it's pretty obvious that this printer is designed to work with the ACE Pro, the spool holder on the back is to be blunt a joke! Also, I don't understand why they don't include a chute catch box, so the waste filament isn't just dropped behind the printer on the desk/table...I feel that I could/would give the 'combo' 5 stars as it would allow every feature of this printer's abilities to be used, but this printer-only bundle is really lacking features and that really diminishes its value...That all said, it's an exceptional, user-friendly out-of-the-box printer that prints PLA great! No tinkering, just follow the setup instructions and within an hour of getting it, I printed the Benchy in the photo, and for the first print out of the box, it's phenomenal! I want to also add I printed this Benchy with the included small sample of PLA, but due to how horrible the spool holder is, I had to put this sample filament in a bowl behind the printer so that I didn't have a huge tangled mess behind the printer...This printer is clearly designed around having the ACE Pro attached and without it it's really crippled, so keep that in mind, unless all you want is an exceptional single-color PLA printer out of the box, just be aware that if you want to use the full potential of this printer you need the ACE Pro attachment...
