When I saw that this Cat Shield was made of Aluminum, I was a bit skeptical at first, but DO NOT BE FOOLED. Despite this shield being made of aluminum, it is VERY THICK and VERY DURABLE (neither I or my dad could get it to bend, this alone says alot) aside from the amazing build quality, the shipping was INCREDIBLY quick, the instructions were VERY CLEAR on how to install the shield and it even comes with thread-locker for the bolts! The shield is very durable, it doesn’t shake or move around when installed on the truck, its very firm, tight fit and overall just an amazing product. With that said though, its not going to stop all Cat thefts, it’ll just stop about 99% of them because, yes, if they really wanted to steal your cats, they could saw through it which would take WAYY longer which is why it’d stop most of them, these thief's are looking for a quick in, saw and out, they won’t bother with the hassle of these extra steps that this products puts in place.

I have a 2023 TRD Off-road double cab and it fit perfectly. The install went pretty smooth, only about an hour or so.I do believe this would slow a cat thief down a bit but if they have a few minutes or so it probably wouldn't stop them completely. This thinner steel option was much more thin than I imagined it would be. I’m sure a decent sawzall would have no problem getting through this thing. Also, the back half of each catalytic converter is still slightly exposed. If someone wasn’t worried about damaging it upon removal then it would make no difference. They would need to tear up the cross bar as well but I’m sure that wouldn’t bother them! You can see the cat in the top left side of the photo for reference.I’m not 100% convinced this will help but it is at least SOMETHING, so it does give me a little piece of mind.

I highly recommend these, they are very sturdy, installed perfectly. Yes, they can cut it off to get to the catalytic converter, but it's going to make a huge noise that will be an additional deterrent!

Easy enough to install solo. Some tips that I found helpful:1) I didn’t have an extra set of hands to hold the shield flush while installing, so I used clamps. Simple, cheap, large spring-loaded clamps (mine were 99 cents from Home Depot) did the trick. Just line up the slots and bolt holes and clamp it in place, then bolt away.2) The manual has you construct the entire shield then bolt in place. What I found was that it was very difficult to thread the bolts through the crossbar piece without the crossbar piece moving out of position. I ended up removing one of the wings and manually holding the crossbar in place while placing the bolts through it (which was easy to do). Then I bolted the wing back to the body of the shield.Hope that helps.

Having Peace of Mind eases the worries of being a victim of the craziness out there. I didn't want to be a statistic so I did something about it. Install was not that bad. The only difficult part was installing the center three bolts toward the front. If you have a TRD Pro or have a front skid plate installed you will have to remove it otherwise it will be very difficult to line up the top threaded plate that goes on top of frame with the three bottom bolts that go through the frame to secure the front of the cat cover plate. After install you can put back your front skid plate that lines up perfectly with the cat plate cover. Don't forget to put one security bolt for both ends of the two short brace bars for better security. IMHO this is more of a deterent if anything to move on to an easier target.

It is awesome. Now I don't have to worry as much getting the cats stolen. I wish the bolt head is more flush, like the YouTube, Cloe was showing. Or make the screw hole more cave in, so you cannot grind it out. Like the 3 front screw, that is perfect, you cannot get your grinder deep inside to cut it off. All and all it is great.

Purchased for 2021 Tacoma. Took about 45 minutes to install. Provided bolt bit and 12 mm socket is all you need. I used Loctite for extra protection. I read about needing longer bolts for the front, I had no problem they fit perfect. Looks like an extra skid plate. Very solid.
