Visually stunning telescope. Don't waste your time on, the cheaper, smaller telescopes on Amazon. This is a full size, real deal telescope. I get lots of comments about how gorgeous this is and it dresses up our living room nicely. Only con is the optic quality is not very good.

It’s like a secret handshake for us nautical decor enthusiasts. The longer the name, the more authentic the item, right?The moment I set up this telescope in my living room, I felt like an 18th-century sea captain, minus the scurvy. The brass finish is so authentic, I swear I can smell the sea air (or maybe that’s just my fish tank).The adjustable floor standing feature is a game-changer. I can peer into the cosmos while sitting, standing, or even doing a headstand (not recommended). I got this telescope for 10 year old son. We spend a lot of time in the summer star gazing at night with binoculars, which is really fun by the way. But I thought it would be neat to see a bit more of the moon and stars with a little more magnification power. If you're a practicing astronomer this telescope probably wouldn't do it for you, but for the budding star gazer it's really cool. The magnification is good and lenses are nice and clear making for good viewing of the craters on the moon. It's also a super nice looking setup, the brass and the wood look spectacular together. I suppose if you wanted to decorate your room in a Victorian explorer motif this would match a big drinks globe really well too. Overall we're really happy with it and I'm glad we got it!
