I didn't even know such a thing existed. I flushed my coolant and wanted to be sure what I put back was 50/50 (or close). This did the trick.

Reads both my coolant in my tsx and my girl's in her cr-v as accurately as can be expected! Very clear to read and seems accurate! Highly recommended!

This is a little larger than I thought it was, but that's actually good. It's easier to handle at this size.I tested this with just ordinary water. It says to use distilled, but I didn't have any handy. It showed 32 F as expected. So, I mixed GM compatible anti-freeze 50/50 with water and it read at about 52% anti-freeze. I expect the anti-freeze isn't precision mixed to begin with, so I think this is good and will work well. You just use the included dropper to drop about 3 drops of liquid on the glass prism, then close the glass cover. It's like preparing a microscope slide if you've ever done that. Then, it's easy clean up after that. They even include a microfiber cloth. You can't wear glasses to look through the eyepiece. But, it does have a focus adjustment. You will need to use a very bright light with it to easily read the display. Room light really isn't good enough. I used it under an 18-watt LED reading lamp and the display was very clear. You'll see a display with lighter blue below and darker blue above the line that shows on one of the three measuring scales. If the calibration appears to be off, use distilled water and adjust the calibration screw to read 32 degrees F.It comes with a nice case also. It's a nice device and pretty easy to use.
