I wanted to check the alcohol content of Kefir to make sure that there was none. I used this in conjunction with the EasyDens and their app. Easy to use and very reassuring.

I got this refractometer to take more accurate measurements to improve fermentation for brewing and wine making. I can measure the alcohol and sugar content from the beginning to the end of the fermentation process. It takes a multitude of measurements and works well with the connected smartphone app. I'm not a scientist, but as far as I can tell it takes pretty accurate measurements. It also takes measurements lightning quick and provides the results that I need immediately. I'm looking forward to using this to hopefully get involved in making and preserving honey as well.

So easy to connect to the app and use it. I have been brewing my kombucha for a bit now and I wanted to check the sugar content to see how well fermented it is. It took a second to show me the Bx. That means 6.6 grams of dissolved solids in 100ml water. It won't tell you exactly how much of that is sugar. But it gives you a good idea. I think with time and more trials, I should be able to come up with the perfect number to determine if it's ready yet. I know your taste buds are the best thing when it comes to determining that, but I like having solid numbers to go by. This device works great. There are 4 or 5 different apps for different devices they have available. Just make sure to get the right one. The instruction manual doesn't tell you which one, but it's pretty self explanatory.

Alles super und wie von Anton Paar zu erwarten von hoher Qualität.Die Datenspeicherung in der App ist wirklich praktisch und die Bedienung einfach und intuitiv.Auch praktisch: die automatische Würze-/Alkoholkorrektur! Hier kann der Faktor auch je nach Bier angepasst werden.

I've been using this with the EasyDens to get ABV readings for the beer I brew. The readings obtained are spot on with known samples.

The refractometer has so many possible uses. An app does have to be downloaded to use this. It would be nice for the unit to have a display screen to show results but considering it has so many different measurements it is capable of, I suppose an app makes sense. The meter seems to be accurate. I have been using it to maintain a saltwater aquarium. When compared to a calibrated solution, the unit seemed to be accurate enough for my purposes. The refractometer can be used for a variety of different applications from canning veggies, jams, jellies, and brine to wine making. I plan to get bees in the near future and will probably use this when harvesting honey. Overall, this refractometer is very versatile in its uses and proved to be accurate when compared to a calibrated solution.

I purchased this to work in pairing with EasyDens Hydrometer to do acholic levels without having the starting gravity, but I'm question on how Accuracy it is. The same sample of beer on both units and I get different reading even after calibrating. The Digital Refractometer seems to be off. I would love to see more videos on how to clean and use the EasyDens Digital Refractometer and EasyDens Hydrometer . Also love your app but does seem a little expense to pay 24 dollars more after spending 800 on both units. You should offer at least 1 or 2 free.

I have used for two home brews and worked very accurateMust have if serious about your beer quality. I wished I would have had this device sooner. Yes, I highly recommend at this price point.

Ich habe mich für das SmartRef entschieden - va. weil ich gesehen habe, dass Anton Paar großteils Messgeräte für diverse Industrien herstellt und ich muss sagen, dass ich begeistert bin.Das Produkt kommt hochwertig verpackt und sieht sehr stabil und stylisch aus. Im Vergleich zu meinem alten Refraktometer ist es deutlich angenehmer zu bedienen. Die App gibt sogar Hinweise über den Zustand der Probe und Bedienung und man kann die Werte dann direkt abspeichern, dadurch spare ich mir lästiges dokumentieren per Hand. An sich sind die Genauigkeit und der Messbereich des SmartRef gleich wie bei anderen Refraktometern, aber diese zusätzlichen Features haben das Gerät meiner Meinung nach eine Stufe höher gestellt.Fazit: Tolles Gerät, klare Kaufempfehlung!
