Description

The AMUMU SP30 Magnetic Soundhole Pickup is crafted to deliver high-fidelity acoustic sound for steel-string guitars. With a custom-designed neodymium magnet, handwound single-coil with oxygen-free copper, and solid beech wood housing, this pickup captures your guitar’s natural resonance with exceptional clarity and balance. The high-impedance passive design means no batteries are needed—just plug and play. A specially customized lossless audio cable ensures nearly 99% signal transmission, preserving your instrument’s tone. Whether for live performance or recording, the SP30 offers a seamless, professional acoustic experience.

ATTENTION:

  • The SP30/SP31 is a magnetic pickup designed exclusively for steel-string acoustic guitars, and will not function on instruments with Nylon strings.
  • It fits snugly into soundholes ranging from 3.82'' (97mm) to 4.33'' (110mm) in diameter.
  • This pickup is not compatible with 3/4-size guitars, such as the Taylor Baby or Little Martin series, which typically feature a smaller soundhole diameter of 3.5".
  • As a passive pickup, it only produces normal volume levels when used in conjunction with a guitar amplifier equipped with a built-in preamp. For best performance, the AMUMU SP30/SP31 should be played through a full-range system using a direct box with the signal sent directly to the mixing board, the AMUMU GLORIFIER D.I PREAMP is recommended. If you use an amplifier, it should be full frequency guitar amplifier designed for acoustic guitars.
  • The single-coil pickup is sensitive to 50-60Hz hum, so it's important to keep it away from sources of interference such as fluorescent lights, dimmer packs, computer monitors, and transformers.
  • Avoid pointing the guitar's soundhole directly towards the amplifier for optimal sound quality.

Not sure why they didn't create a better way to secure the pick up to the sound hole. It slides off easily, and won't fit my needs. Sending back for refund

The pick up worked well but...the glue holding the pads in the end failed. The pick up slid in the soundhole and nearly fell into the guitar while I was playing. I was sitting still. So rather than try to re-glue the pads, I decided to return it.

This was absolutely the perfect solution to being able to connect to a looper since my guitar had no internal mike. The sound from this device is fantastic. Good buy! Reasonably priced.

Works well for acoustic guitars, it able to pick up all the sounds I create through the Guitar. Its small and convenient to carry around, or to leave in your instrument. It does not distort the sound, giving you a clean sound to enjoy.

Meine Empfehlung!

I got this for my 12 string acoustic. I took the drastic decision to drill through the body to fit the socket internally. It was easy and well worth it. The pickup looks great, fits perfectly and sounds very natural and acoustic.I was worried that it would not keep up with preamp powered guitars but there is plenty enough output.

難点といえば、ネジ止めしないので緩くなることくらいで、音も満足です。

I installed this item on an older Alvarez steel-string dreadnaught guitar with an adjustable bridge. I had ordered another style of pickup that normally fits between pins and bridge, but that unit wouldn’t work — the bridge-adjusting screws blocked the fit. This unit fits into the guitar’s sound hole. I wondered if the pick guard would hinder installation, but it did not.Installation took seconds. We plugged it into a sound system in our medium-sized church, and the sound for both strumming and finger-picking was excellent. No battery is involved in the unit, so it must be plugged into a powered system.HIGHLY recommend.

I just play at home, but I have a very nice sounding acoustic amp that has some nice effects and wondered what my rarely played, pickup-less, Custom shop Breedlove would sound like through it. I was considering having an expensive system with the controls through the sound hole installed .Then I added a used Martin D15M to my stable. It also did not have a pickup. I thought I'd give this AMUMU SP30 Woody Magnetic Soundhole Pickup unit a try.It sounded just fine to me on the Martin, so I tried it on the Breedlove as well and I was able to enjoy the "toys" of my Fender SFX on both rather hassle free. The downside is a bit obvious, you need to put it in and remove it, and then there is the connecting cable running in front of the guitar. The included cable is fine if you play close to the amp.It fit snugly and and has nice soft cushioning and I was not fearful of damaging the intricate rosette on the Breedlove. I do not know if prolonged attachment to the sound hole may cause an issue to the finish, nor what effect continued installation and removal might have. But for as infrequently as I play the Breedlove with it, I am now NOT considering the expensive system.I only gave it 4 stars because I have no other experience with this type unit and I suspect it may not be the best sounding unit available, so I did not want to mislead anyone to thinking there might not be better sounding similar products.
