Ammonium Hydroxide is a liquid chemical solution that is colorless. It is obtained by dissolution of ammonia in water. The solubility of ammonia decreases with the increase in temperature of the water solvent.
It can be observed that this behavior of ammonia is quite similar to that of other gases. The solution of ammonia in water exhibits a decrease in its density with the increase in the concentration of dissolved ammonia.

CHLORAMINE PRODUCTION
Ammonia can be used in the production of chloramine which is a good disinfectant. It remains active in still water for longer than chlorine.
HOUSEHOLD CLEANING
Ammonia can be used to clean a variety of household surfaces – from tubs, sinks and toilets to bathroom and kitchen countertops and tiles.
FERTILIZER PROCESS
Ammonium hydroxide solution is an important tool in the manufacturing process of chemical fertilizers. It is used as a salt in these fertilizers.
CHEMICAL PRODUCTION
Ammonium hydroxide is also used in the production of organic and inorganic chemicals containing nitrogen. It is the base chemical in nitric acid.

I used this for fuming white oak. I ran a test by putting a half cup of this in a dish in a 5 gallon bucket, then added some oak and put a lid on it. the oak began darkening almost immediately. in 24 hours it got as dark as it would get.Very happy.

If you are looking for a strong ammonia, this is the product you want. Just be careful breathing around it. It is potent.

I am using this Reagent Grade Ammonium Hydroxide to do some simple chemical tests on mineral specimens. Basic chemistry sort of stuff. Well, maybe simple college chemistry. The jug is fitted with an internal stopper which really came in handy because it was shipped and used in 100 degree plus weather, which can be hard on an aqueous solution like this. That said, I would appreciate knowing not only the concentration percentage, but the molarity as well. Granted, one can find the molarity online. but it would have helped. Also, I really only needed a pint or less, but perhaps it would be less economical for the company to ship smaller quantities, and the excess can be easily neutralized to pH7 with vinegar and phenolpthtalein. So, Thank You for making this chemical available. Here's to hoping we found some valuable minerals!

Only buy this if you know how to handle it. This strength of ammonia is not for cleaning, it is dangerous to handle unless you have the proper personal protective gear.
