This seat assured was easy to install, unlike the previous one I bought that had the wrong hardware that I had to return. Once I bought this seat everything I needed was included the final install went easy.If found that American Standard hardware deserves a good rating for reliability and quality.

I purchased the toilet seat to replace one with broken hinges. The new one has stronger hinges and is a nice fit.

A contractor installing windows in our bathroom stood on our toilet and broke the lid. We saw it as an opportunity to get the “ soft closing” lid we had always wanted. The measurements and hole placements fit perfectly. 100% satisfied. Highly recommend

The previous, original toilet seat on our American Standard Cadet toilet broke outright near the left hinge point after about 10 years of use. This was NOT a slow close lid. The new one is. Neither of them have a feature allowing quick detachment for cleaning like the more expensive lids do.I was quite surprised to see the old seat broken but, in truth, my wife was sitting on top of the lid, not the seat, drying herself after a bath when it happened. She said it suddenly twisted then broke and she almost fell to the floor. She's average height and weight. Regardless the manufacturer may have something to say like: Please don't sit on top of the lid, it's not designed for that. And I would agree with that.I expect that she leaned to one side or the other, while drying herself, and the feet under the lid slipped sideways causing the twist. The torque on the hinge would have been huge even for a person weighing 140 pounds so I don't blame the manufacture for this. I took a good look at the replacement I ordered and the plastic is much thicker around the hinge points so perhaps the manufacturer noticed and improved the design and hopefully this one won't break. The feet under the lid and seat also seem stickier than on the old one so twisting due to shifting weight seems less likely. I'll give it 5 stars for now :)

I have an American Standard toilet and have went through several different lids so decided to pay the extra and get the actual American standard lid. Simple installation and love the easy close lid. I still couldn't figure out the exact shade of the toilet but this white color you can hardly notice the difference with the shade I have so it works! Huge difference in comfort vs other brands!

I have an American Standard elongated toilet. The Bemis seat hinge broke. I said, " I will purchase an American Standard OEM seat as a replacement."The seat is too long AND too narrow ( other reviewers have provided photos) for an AmStan elongated toilet. Note: the Bemis seat matched the Am Stan toilet...I would say: Exactly.I would suggests that AmStan contact Bemis on how to measure and fabricate a piece of plastic into a toilet seat that matches an AmStan elongated toilet.Update:My error, I have a round toilet. However, the Amazon product listing shows an incorrect dimension for the seat. This seat IS an elongated version, but a photo with dimensions has the wrong length.In the "product image gallery" for this toilet seat, the Length is shown as 17 1/5" (Yes, 1/5...probably meant 1/4). This length is for a "Round" toilet seat...which is what I needed. American Standard needs to correct that dimension to 18 5/8" in the product image gallery ....which is the correct dimension for an elongated seat. Note: Under product details, the dimension is correctly given as 18 5/8" (therefore, two different lengths are listed for this AmStan toilet seat; different sections of the Amazon listing, display different lengths).If customers look primarily at schematics for dimensions, they will order this and then get a seat that is too long and too narrow.

La calidad es buena, sin embargo es una tapa que funciona para montaje tradicional y montaje por dentro (algo exclusivo de algunos inodoros de American standard como lo es el mío) pero solo trae los tornillos tradicionales y no los exclusivos para montaje por dentro, hay que comprarlos por separado y es muy pero muy complicado encontrarlos
