They are solidly built and adjustable, much better than the rubber ones.

Whether for hiking or land maintenance , these crampons are a boon to trekking up the hilly terrain in our area. The spikes are big and grasp the ground securely, preventing those slips & slides experienced with some others. With an easily adjustable base and strong straps to fit comfortably these can be used by both of us, but I just may need to get my own personal pair!

Hex bolt holding crampon together came out halfway down my second time using them. But I guess that is what you pay for..

While using these on an iced-over trail, the screw at the bottom fell out. Had to continue the rest of the hike with 1 crampon. DO NOT buy these. Either use microspikes or spend more money if you need crampons. There is a reason they are cheap. I should have known better.

Obviously if your doing any serious mountaineering don't buy the cheapest crampons you can find, invest in some petzl lynx's or something. But if your on a budget these will get you up an icey hike in a pinch. I used these to solo hike Mount Washington via lions head/ tuckerman mid February and these were adequate, though I highly recommend replacing the screws it comes with and getting a 3/8 locking nylon nut and bolt for 50 cents from Lowe's and locktite-ing them. During my decent both bolts provided wiggled loose and made the crampons effectively useless so I had to descend in microspikes and self arrest with an ice axe multiple times - definitely not a fun time. But with some cheap modifications for $20 these are decent

Impressed with the quality for price with these crampons. All the necessary components, even though only 10 teeth it has good traction in mixed snow and ice. I've used them to hike 13ers and 14ers here in Colorado, and they hold up to abusive conditions.I've found they need to be strapped along the width of your laces as well to properly stay on your feet. Picture a triangle, lace the webbing through the front and side loops, but finish it across your shoelaces. This tweak keeps the crampon snug to your heel.I will upgrade to a more agressive pair eventually, but these work great as I build my mountaineering experience. Recommended.
