I use it as intended at work in music festivals. It doesn't slip. It pierces and breaks the ice with ease. I can easily close it up for safe transport. I highly recommend this for any traveling bartender or barback.

I have an ice maker that leaks so not all the water gets into the cube trays. This means a big block of ice forms at the back over time. Queue the ice pick. It annihilated this gargantuan of an ice block into tiny manageable bits. Peace reigns once again.

Bought this for ikejime but haven't used it yet so can't speak on its versatility or general usefulness but it feels sturdy I'm sure it would be great for actually stabbing ice
