My cat had a large Struvite crystal that had to be surgically removed from his bladder and can become deadly in cats very quickly causing blockages. He is already on prescription food to prevent them from happening so I started looking into environmental factors. High alkaline is what causes urinary crystals in cats and our filtered tap water is according to this test, very alkaline high. I then tested a purified water jug and it was perfectly neutral. This product worked perfectly for my experiment and my pets will only be getting purified bottled water from now on.

I used this pH checker on my refrigerator water, the tap water out of my kitchen sink, the tap water outside and they all came out the same 8pH. I used it on a bottle of water that's supposed to be 9.5pH and it only said it was 8pH. It seems it just has the same pH register no matter what water I use. Is it really accurate?

Lol, I carry this tester everywhere in my purse. Because I often buy out , want to know what I am drinking. This product is very accurate and it's a conversational piece. A Must have in your cabinets for when needed: you have.

I purchased this product to test the alkalinity of the Waterdrop filter, which I also bought on Amazon.1. This Ph solution is very affordable.2. The instructions are simple and straightforward.3. Using it was easy.4. The only draw back I have encountered is determining the alkalinity level base on the color changes during the test. This can be a bit challenging as my eyes are getting older, making it harder to distinguish subtle color variations.Overall, this is a simple to use and affordable product.

First off, this is not a "test kit" per se. It is a dropper bottle of a pH test solution and you will need to provide your own "test tube" in which to conduct the tests... which is not a problem for me... just need to provide your own jigger-sized glass or plastic (clear, no color) to hold the recommended (2 tsp... 10ml) water sample. The tests are very easy to run and the results are instantaneous and unambiguous... as long as you only need to know the general pH of the water sample... gives it to you as pH 4.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, or 10.0... essentially acidic, neutral, or alkaline. Its obviously suitable for high-level testing of, e.g., well water but not suitable for things that require a more detailed value for pH, e.g., fish tanks and swimming pools. I have a well and water-treatment system in my home and, for me, this is perfect for testing to determine when the limestone media in my neutralization tank needs replacement. In that respect, it gives a quick, accurate, and visually-unambiguous result.

There were two directions to follow, one said 2 drops to water being tested and the other said 2 to 3 drops to 2 tsp of water. I did both and the color of the water didn’t match anything on the chart. There wasn’t a clear tube included in the package which ended up being a hassle.
