Carnivorous plants don't grow very big. They'll arrive at your house measuring 1-4" tall. They'll get a bit taller as you grow them out, but will mostly grow wider, along with new pitchers/traps.

Wellspring Gardens is the starter plant, AKA “baby plant” shop. We just get you started, so you get all the credit for raising your plants under your green thumb.

We aim to ship your plants when they’re 3-8” tall, though we often ship them taller than that.

I am an experienced Venus fly trap grower. Right now I have seven, with different varieties, all doing well. But... this plant died.

The vendor was helpful, but you simply cannot get delicate plants via mail. My first shipment was dead, dry and burned. Replacement was also dead, dry and burned. I assume if winter, the plant would be frozen dead.

These babies arrived today. They had a long trip from Fl to NY. I was so so happy! They survived the trip. Their package was nicely done, and well protected. They were in their pot with plenty of water for the trip and if Im not mistaken one of the traps had a meal inside. They were all closed but once I put them in the nursery under grow lights they started to open. I got a small live worm and fed it to see if they would go for it and YES!!! They were active and sad for the worm it got caught in it. I'm very happy with my new babies and will definitely be buying more from this seller. Thank you guys for the beautiful plant. It is obvious you do love them and do care for them. Thanks!!

"I'm PISSED"--never have I gotten a plant(s) that I ordered in this condition. In the past, all plants have arrived wrapped in paper. These were taped over with masking tape. NO PAPER @ all to protect them. They were dead, black and stuck under the tape. Who does that? Basically I paid for dirt! One plant did have a stalk sticking from under the tape, but the head of the fly trap was black/dead. Really!! I won't be purchasing anymore plants thru Amazon.

Day 1, really impressed with this plant. Delivery was delayed a few days, so I had some doubts, but this is a gorgeous plant with at least 10 open heads. My picture doesn't do it justice. After buying other VFT offerings that didn't survive, this plant is the healthiest I have ever seen. I would rate 5 stars if it had included any instructions on how to care for the plant, or even a link to such instructions.

Arrived on time and in good condition. So far it's still alive. You will need to buy your own soil/pot as the plant comes in a very tiny plastic pot that it barely fits in so you need to repot it. (Update: died after almost 2 months. After a few weeks the heads turned black and I had to snip them away. Watered using the correct water and had the correct soil mix and everything.) Waste of money for the plant and added soil/pot I had to buy. :/
