My Koi loved it. Put it in hoping it would add surface cover over time but my Koi loved it so much it was gone within 2 days

This is my first attempt at purchasing this product. When it arrived the package was wet. Not gonna lie it smelled like stagnant swamp a**!! I did open it in my house. Wrong just open it outside..The container it arrived in was decent (I don’t think I could think of a way to mail this stuff) the jar did seem to be under some pressure the lid was blown up some..so you could only imagine the scent that did come off..I then looked at the product and had to pull up the pictures of what I ordered. Upon the pictures and what I got I had to ask Siri is my jar of swamp water dead or not since it wasn’t very green. I put it in a small bucket OUTSIDE figured it might need some fresh water after that journey it took….well I did get some door prizes in my jar but due to the heat and lack of oxygen they did RIP…like I said I’m no aquatic plant specialist…but that was a rough one. Whew chileeeeeeee! 10/10 definitely recommend.

Okay, so these plants first off are WONDERFUL! When you first open them they smell horrible-but once you put them in the tank the smell disappears. A lot of the plants arrived “dead” or brown and I just popped them in the tank with the others and they revived. Almost all of them had no roots when they arrived either and they grew on.One downside though is that a lot of debris comes with the plants-mostly detached roots that do make a mess on your filter but other then that I love these plants!

I am a biology teacher and buy duckweed each year for an ecosystem project. I'm used to them being small but these are microscopic!! "1000" plants and it doesn't even cover an 8 x 8 pan! There is no way these will be enough for my project. On the positive side they do seem to be relatively healthy. If I had a couple of months to let them grow....

I was hopeful... but greatly disappointed. At least the plants were not shipped in a plastic bag, but a specimen jar, so that was good. Out of 1000+ plants, NONE were green. Notta. All brown. And, there is nothing in the Amazon description that states they cannot be placed in an outdoor pond. That is why I purchased them in the first place. The instructions that arrived with these dead plants states that they will have a putrid sewage smell with some explanation as to why. It also says that some will not be green and that is normal... well, mine stayed brown for about 5 days, and I discarded them all.I quarantined them, as stated in the instructions. I would have NEVER tossed them into my pond or aquarium. I love my fish too much for that. It also states that duckweed is very hard to kill. Well, I guess that if you place them in a covered container and ship them to other states, that is one way to kill them.No SUN???.... so if you have a pond that has direct sun, that is the second way to kill duckweed. So, feel free to toss these in your shady swamp and enjoy!!I would have rather taken my $7 and purchased a BK Whopper. The sellers should explain exactly what these are, and how they are to be grown. Not after receiving the product, but before, like in the Amazon description. Shame on them.No direct sunlight??? No where in the description does it say for indoor growing only. But on the packing slip, that is exactly what it states.Go somewhere else and purchase quality plants. As you can tell, I am not happy at all with this seller or the plants that they bagged from their backyard swamp and are selling on Amazon.I thought at least I could get a runaway snail in the batch, but that didn't happen either.

First off, my duckweed arrived in a bottle, like a medical bottle. I received so much more than 1000! Sadly most of it died which is my fault, not the sellers, I'll explain. I had asked a friend to pick up my mail the day it arrived because I was at work. The friend bailed on me, had better things to do and the duckweed sat in a metal parcel locker in the sun four 3+ hours in 90+ degrees which in the metal parcel locker was probably 100+ degrees. It was pretty much white from being cooked. I did separate all the green ones from the center I could find and waiting to see if they recover. Next time I will be ordering in cooler weather and yes I will order from this seller again, even though the duckweed was mostly gone I could see it was heat damage and not a bad batch. The roots are long and I could see how healthy they all where! Ok now it smells extremely bad. Even when it's a good batch it's gonna smell like death warmed over, this is stagnant pond water it's in. So be prepared for that and maybe open outside. To help the smell, just put it in maybe a different container and use dechlorinated water and swap out some of the water and the smell will reduce. It's gonna be going through a bit of transfer shock so give it some time to quarantine and recover before throwing it in your tank or pond.
