I ordered this for blue crab and lobster measurements. I am so pleased with this compact easy to carry design. It is exactly what I was looking for. It is so easy to use when checking crab traps. A great value for the money.

For CA spiny lobster it has the correct legal size measurement of 3 1/4 inches but for Dungenesse Crab it's 5 3/4 inches so you can only use one side of this gauge not the crab side if you live in California. The quality of the gauge is nice and sturdy.

This is a solid gauge for crab & lobster hunting. Too many times I thrown some questionable back but now I can quickly measure them. The gauge is solid, not heavy, and not bulky. It fits into my side pants pockets easily. Will buy more as gifts.

Light, easy to use, aluminum so it wonāt rust, it has a hole from which it can be hung up as well. This little tool has a lot of merits. I will use this when I Handline and expect it to be quick and easy to use.

It is precise and can be used as a gauge but be careful if it is bent. Mine arrived warped and I bent it back. Upon comparison to gauges which I would swear by since they are thick stainless steel and laser cut, this gauge's measurement is spot on if the gauge is flat. However, if it is warped, be VERY careful as it can seem as if short lobsters are keepers. As a result, carry 2 gauges with you from 2 different manufacturers and when in doubt if one is barely legal, measure with both gauges.

Handy little lobster gauge to throw in your boat. It's only marked with the minimum size for lobster, but the crab side is lobster max in Maine so it'll do I guess. Makes a good boat key ring if you wanna look real salty. Other than that not much to say. It's stamped aluminum, so it'll corrode someday, but not soon. For $6 you can't expect admantium. It does what it's supposed to do, and the price is fair.

This lobster and crab gauge works perfectly and is like any other standard gauge. It's aluminum, hard to rust, hard to break, and comes with a hole to attach to your diving gear or net when fishing. My only complaint is that you can only use 1 side of the ruler. I'm used to seeing gauges where both sides work for the state. So I'd highly recommend reading the full description and scrolling all the way down to where it explains which state regulations these comply with. For example, in California 3 1/4" is the correct lobster size. But the crab size is 4" (and this ruler only works for 5"). In Florida, 3" is the lobster size (this ruler is for 3 1/4") but the crab size is 5". And as most people know, when you're diving or using a hoop net, you have an opportunity to catch both lobsters and crabs so you'd have to carry 2 rulers with you in order to ensure you're not missing out on a crab or lobster.

This is exactly what it looks like -- a piece of stamped aluminum with a few measurements on it. It does the job. I think the price here ($6.95) might be a little high for such a simple product.
