They sent me a damaged product. Fundamental to this product working are the springs that open the hinges. This product arrived with one of the two springs broken. There wasn’t even any straight wire connected to one side because the wire spring snapped by the coil. In other words, the spring on one side has no function and is worthless. This also means it opens too slowly and too weakly.

I like the fact that it works well except the fact that the bait holder comes undone sonetimes. The spring mechanism scould be stronger. I find it easier to throw the trap out in the water like a frisbee to ensure that the trap opens properly. It closes great and stays shut when reeling in.

I enjoyed it! Great weight and size. Very fun little contraption. Love the bait clip. Didn't come with cording or a bait bag as described, but that's OK. Good times!

Easy to attach to fishing line. Caught more keepers using this than in our cage style traps. Make sure you use heavy weight test line.

These traps work great for catching dungeness crabs on the Oregon coast. We used some paracord for the rope and whipped them off the edge of the sandy bay and and within 5 minutes we were catching tons of crab. I would say one of the keys to catching Dungies is really smelly bait. Other than these traps work fantastic. We used a 6oz weight in the middle of the trap to beat the tide from dragging it around. I also casted this my surf pole and 30lb braided line and it worked great too. Nice traps.

Easy to use and works well, only down side is the monofilament line used to attach the trap to the line, I've lost a couple due to the crabs pinching and cutting the lines, I replaced them with 100lb test 8 strand braided line and they are solid as a rock, I use 550 cord for the pull line and can throw them quite far. Works well off of piers, docks and jetty's.

This is a nice trap that is easy to cast and works well......when it works. The problem comes from the post production packaging. In packaging the heavy Mono lines are tied tightly around the frame before shipping. Once the knot is untied the Mono lines have a large kink in them. This kink can hang up, preventing the trap from closing. I tried hanging the trap from the swivel with a 10 lb weight in it for several days. It helped for a bit, but a couple days later the kink mostly came back. I will probably have to buy and replace the heavy mono line to fully fix this problem.
