Frame and top are well-made using fairly thick steel and a quality finish. The color matches the off-white of most mini split systems perfectly. The included fasteners used to secure the top "roof" did not work, but replacing them with some #14 x 3/4-inch metal roofing screws easily solved that minor issue. Unfortunately, there is a bigger issue.I have 4 mini splits on my property, ranging from 9K BTU up to 18K BTU in size. This cover would not fit any of them.The cover does not extend far enough out to cover anything but the smallest mini split systems, or systems that are not properly spaced away from the wall. Most mini split manufacturers call for a minimum of 12 inches of space between the outdoor unit and the wall where they are installed. This is for optimal airflow and performance, it should not be ignored. The outdoor units of even smaller 9K-12K BTU systems are usually about 10-12 inches deep. If installed properly to manufacturer specs, the outdoor units will be at least 22-24 inches out from the wall. This cover is only 21 inches deep, meaning it won't provide enough coverage for even these smaller systems.I might end up using this to cover some security camera or other devices, but it's too small to cover a mini split. It would need to extend at least an additional 6-8 inches from the wall to cover a mini split that has been properly installed to manufacturer specs.

Ordered this Air Conditioner Cover Outdoor AC Units Protection to install over my outdoor mini split in order to provide some protection against the elements during the winter. The frame is solid and it came well packaged in a brown box with no construction issues. I got it out of the box and after checking out the size of the arms in comparison with the size of my mini split decided not to actually install it. I should have taken the time to read the dimensions in the description better rather than looking at the pictures. OOPS. The mini splits shown in the pictures are super tiny and must be like 2k units to fit under this thing. So that is a little frustrating but partially my fault. The 21 inch width when the angle is considered just does not offer much protection and in my case the eve of the roof extended just as far as this guy. Going to save it to install on the side of a tiny house which will not have eves and will be using a much smaller heat pump, so will be much better suited for that scenario. Length is good, but the width or distance from the wall should be greater considering most compressors require at least 6 inches of spacing off the wall and are a minimum of 18 inches thick. Knowing you are going to use one of these would allow you to run the refrigerant lines such that they don't get in the way and then you could put this very close to the top of the unit and provide decent protection that way.I can see a product like this being really nice to keep the snow off a small compressor or heat pump, but it needs to be a small one and need to make sure your lines don't run up vertically behind the compressor.

This review is for the Air Conditioner Cover Outdoor AC Units Protection, Patio Awning Canopy UV Rain Snow Protection Sheet, Thicken Sun Shade Outer Cover Split Heat Pump Unit Cover for Condenser Compressor.So I grabbed this to get put up over my midea AC unit. If you don't know about them, they're the newer style that U shaped where all of the mechanicals of the unit sit out the window. They're very energy efficient and they're whisper quiet! I love it as I have it in my office area. Anyway the unit is in a window that's not protected by the eaves of the house and this shopuld be perfect for it.I haven't installed it yet as I need to have our handyman do it this coming spring. But I checked it out and everything looks good with it. If there's any issues I'll update my review.Regular price $ 102.99 per the listing, I feel it's a bit high. Maybe watch for a sale/coupon, browse other listings...As always I only do honest reviews and update if needed. I hope this helps you make the best choices how to spend your $.

Great cover over the outdoor mini split unit. easy to install, only took maybe 30 minutes to mount on the brick siding with a few anchors and some caulk for water proofing the edges. great awning.
