This DLI meter has been working great for me. Super easy to use, just place it where you want to monitor light and it will do the work for you. The device is quite accurate when comparing the readings with my PAR meters. The battery life is excellent as this has been running for quite some time with no signs of dying. Great value for an item that will record your readings through the coarse of the day. Plus it lets you look at the readings by the hour so you can track the whole day!

I was recently given this product, the "AH-20Plus DLI Meter" for my garden and I am ready to share my experience with you. This little device is handy for measuring sunlight exposure. for all the plants in my garden. It accurately records the Daily Light Integral (DLI) for each of the last 10 days. Finally I am able to understand why some of my plants were failing in the past. THis is crucial information that ensures my plants get the right amount of light. Whether it's full sun, partial sun, partial shade, or shade, this meter gives me accurate and complete information allowing me to give my plants exactly what they need to be able to thrive which is a really big deal seeing as how I live here in Florid where there is nothing but sunshine. One of the best features is its long battery life. It runs on a single AAA battery, which is said to last for about two years. Plus, it's already set to the correct time zone, so there's no need to fiddle with settings—just turn it on and start using it right away. The AH-20Plus DLI Meter is also built to last. It's water-resistant, so you don't have to worry about rain or water sprays damaging it. It's perfect for both indoor and outdoor plants, making it a versatile tool for any gardener.Overall, I highly recommend the AH-20Plus DLI Meter. It's a reliable, easy-to-use device that helps ensure your plants get the right amount of sunlight. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, this meter is a must-have for your gardening toolkit.

I moved this to several different locations around our house and it gives accurate readings for the past 10 days. It is sturdy and easy to use, but you really need the manual to interpret the readings.

This is a well made light meter, with a nice display and solid housing thats powered by 1 included aaa. The battery is hard to access requiring you to unscrew 4 tiny screws, luckily the screwdriver is included. This is an inconvenience but also seems to provide good waterproofing with even the screws having silicone gaskets for water protection. Would have also preferred it to be more sensitive in low light settings with a finer unit of measurements in the low end

After having used this DLI meter for a while, overall it's a great addition to my gardening tools. The 10 day tracking is convenient if you want to see your total DLI over the last 10 days (including current), however this is where the tracking stops and then loops over old data. Not a big deal but it's limited in historical tracking (particularly with it just being a stand-alone unit).Overall build quality is good. Display is easy to see, and its functions are easy to navigate and understand. It's quite basic in this regard, which is not a bad thing. The provided plastic stake works fine, although the plastic threads will eventually wear out if you are repeatedly installing/uninstalling the stake. You may want to do this to place the unit on a plant itself, without the added weight or physical restriction of the stake. The fact that the stake is removable is great though, as if you're able and motivated, you could provide your own threaded rod to have a longer stake. The thread is 6mm with 1.0 pitch.Another thing to mention is that I did not find a way to clear the history of the DLI readings. So, if you want to move it to another plant, and want fresh recordings of DLI without the possibility of confusing the values with the meters previous placement, you'll need to remove the battery so the memory clears. I feel a reset function would be helpful in this regard. In all, its a good DLI meter, for hobby and interest-level information.

I was looking forward to receiving this meter so that I could analyze the placement of all my plants and the amount of light they get. Unfortunately, the meter just doesn’t work. When I followed what little instructions that were in there, the meter did not respond. It came with a battery which was nice, but it turns on and it turns off and that’s about it. Pretty disappointing.

After water, the most critical factor for growing plants is light. When trying to grow plants indoors under artificial lights, it is easy to wonder if they are receiving too little, or too much, light. Not enough light, and the plants fail to thrive, or even wither and die. Too much light, and we are wasting energy and possibly even damaging the plant.Ater having brought some plants indoors for the winter, I attempted to determine how much artificial light they needed. For humans, we can easily measure the amount of visible light in foot-candles or Lux. This is not a meaningful measure for plants, as they need light for photosynthesis.Light for photosynthetic plants is referred to as Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) and is comprised of wavelengths between 400 and 700 nanometers. This is quantitatively measured as PPFD (Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density), typically in units of micromoles of photons per square meter per second (μmol/m²/s). One µmol/m2/s equals 6.022 X1016 (60,220,000,000,000,000) photons striking a one-square-meter area each second. If you are desire, you can purchase an expensive PAR meter that allows you to precisely measure the PAR at various distances and do all of the calculations yourself, but thankfully THERE IS A FAR, FAR EASIER WAY.The Daily Light Integral (DLI) is a single number that quantifies the light per area per day (in units of mol/m²/d, but you don’t even need to know that part). The AquaHorti AH-20Plus DLI Meter measures the DLI directly without the need for any other instruments or any math at all.Every plant has an optimum DLI that you can find by searching “plant DLI values”. A DLI meter will let you adjust your lighting to match. If you want to grow plants under artificial lights without complex, expensive equipment, or mind-numbing math, I recommend this meter.
