The description of the product said country of origin: USA. When it showed up, it said made in China on it. After about 7 months of moderate use, it quit working. When you pump the pedal, it goes up slowly, but when you stop, it sinks back down on it's own.

This transmission jack was worth every penny. I have a car lift in my shop now and had to remove a transmission from my wife's Forester. The capacity on this lift is overkill for the job, but the heavy duty construction and wide stance of the wheels makes it a very stable platform. This alone made removal and reinstallation a snap.I originally thought the air lift option would be advantageous because of the lifting height. However, the foot pump works faster than the air lift. It is probably more useful for a heavy transmission where the weight makes the foot pedal harder to operate. Being a 1 ton jack, I was nowhere near it's intended use weight.A few things to adjust during assembly:1) Put the locking casters on the same side of the legs as the foot pump. I placed them opposite from the pump without thinking which makes it harder to adjust/set the position of the jack during transmission removal/installation.2) Adjust the nuts on platform leveling screws to remove the slack. The factory adjustment leaves slack and makes the platform wobly. Use a wrench and tighten the two locknuts a bit to remove the gap between the washers and the bearings on the allthread rods. The platform will still be a little wobly, but it is much better when trying to align the transmission during reinstallation.
