Protect your carpet from flea and tick infestations. ADAMS Carpet Powder works hard to kill fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae, and ticks on carpets, rugs, and furniture where fleas may hide. This flea carpet treatment contains an Insect Growth regulator (IGR), Pyriproxyfen, and the botanically-derived insecticide Linalool that kills all four stages of the flea life cycle: adults, eggs, larvae, and pupae. One 16 oz container can treat up to 400 square feet of a room, and you do not need to replace or reuse it for one full year. It kills fleas and ticks on contact. The flea-killing carpet powder prevents re-infestation and controls the area for up to 365 days. Our carpet treatment deodorizes and freshens the home with a pleasant citrus fragrance while eliminating deep-down pet odors. To use, simply shake up the canister and evenly distribute across the carpet or fabrics, and let it settle; for maximum efficacy, delay vacuuming for 24 hours. With 5% of fleas living on your pet and the remaining 95% living in your home or yard, ADAMS products are designed to provide you with the power to prevent pests on every front.

I had to apply it a couple times for the flea problem to go away but eventually they were all gone. It works.

I followed the instructions carefully, but I have no idea how anyone is supposed to avoid breathing this in or getting it on their skin or eyes—it filled my entire room with a thick cloud! The smell was so overpowering that it clung to my clothes, and I had to leave the room multiple times because I couldn't handle it. I let it sit for 24 hours as recommended for 'best results,' then vacuumed and left the room for another full day. When I came back, it was worst —it was like the fleas multiplied over night, almost as if the powder had acted like fertilizer! It was so bad that I ultimately gave up on my carpet. I would not recommend this product.

Our rescue cat had fleas and then had kittens. We had kept her and the babies contained in a room and it was infested. I emptied the entire room out to nothing but the carpet and tried using a fogger (a whole can for the one 11x11 room), the room was then vacuumed AND I rented a carpet shampooer and went over the floor 6-7 times over the course of a week with both vacuum and shampooer. Fleas were still out of control (not sure where how they survived). Set off a SECOND fogger. Still didn't take care of it.I bought this powder as a last ditch effort before lighting house on fire (LOL...but seriously the fleas were so bad). I sprinkled powder, used broom per directions to "work into carpet," waited 24 hours and vacuumed. I have not seen a flea since. I would 100% recommend this powder!!!! Don't waste money on foggers. The powder gets "airborne" when you sweep over it." I will always purchase this in future and will tell everyone else to as well! Thank you ADAMS!!!

The powder makes dust. It's not dusty when you use it. It's just dusty if you leave it down for awhile.I have used the shampoo on my cats. it works well. But I also use this in my hardwood floor cleaner. I love it! It really helps control the fleas that have some how entered our home.Fleas have never been a concern of mine. I currently have 2 indoor cats and 2 ferrets. I think the ferrets brought them into our lives. We got them from a rescue. I noticed they were scratching often but it was too late. They were not the only thing we rescued.I washed them in dish soap. it worked but it was only temporary. I vacuum everyday, and washed them every other day for a week but still was still a problem. so I started putting the shampoo in the hardwood floor cleaner. Now that helped a lot!. The fleas were living and multiply in the cracks of the hardwood flooring and tiles as well as the carpets and pets. Now we are flea and clear!

After 4 or 5 other types of flea killers, this powder has been the most helpful! Still a few fleas around, but probably a "batch" hatching out and will keep putting it down until they are totally gone. I also have the flea traps so I can see how many fleas continue to come out and SO much less now after this powder! It's a little confusing since the container says it's not for large areas, but I have a two-bedroom apartment with carpeting and frankly, this is the first thing that has worked - at least the best! It's almost like these horrible creatures are immune to most flea killers now and it has been torment for my cat! (But, after 3 times of trying drops, I got a pill from my vet and that has relieved her torment) and mental torment for me, knowing they are around, and needing them to be GONE! I am going to continue buying and using this until I don't see a flea in the apartment!

OK, I can't review the efficacy because that would take months to confirm and I am using a three-prong attack anyway to make triple damn sure I kill these buggers so I won't be sure which, if any of the prongs, was successful. Why write a review then? I think I have some helpful information.First, it says covers 200 to 400 square feet per canister. Plan on the 200 end of the scale. I didn't think I laid it down particularly heavy and I went through it pretty quick.I gave it only 3 stars not because of it's efficacy, which as I said I can't be sure of, but for two reasons: One - it is so fine, it gets everywhere. Even if you close off a room, the simple act of opening the door once and even a slight crack around the door will spread a fine powder, the smell, and presumably the poison, to the rest of the house (and yes I turned the AC off). Well that would be fine since you are trying to kill the buggers right? But it says all over the canister how poisonous it is, don't let it touch your skin, breath it in, get on your clothes, etc. It also says in the directions, "Do not apply this in a way that will contact humans or pets, either directly or through drift." And "Do not enter treated areas until dust has settled." And yet it says to, "shake powder" [onto rugs] and "brush...with broom to force powder deep into carpet." When I did this I was enveloped in a worrisome cloud of dust. I even bought a nice organic canister, well-sealed face respirator just for this task, and I could still smell and taste the stuff as I did it. I'm sure it was all over my skin, my eyes, my clothes, in my lungs and digestive tract... How are you supposed to follow the directions and yet not enter the area or have it contact you? Wear a spacesuit? If they are telling you all the scary stuff to just cover their hineys with the lawyers, that's a foul. If it really is so bad, then you can't possibly apply this stuff without major exposure, unless you have a spacesuit. I don't know what the answer is, except maybe Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth instead (that's my third prong).
