These worked great for hanging patio lights on gutters. However after about a year they just fell apart. Maybe a year is a reasonable amount of time…? I wish we could find metal - or more durable anyway- hooks.

Got these to suspend my windchimes from as I decided to use my several tall shepherds hooks for bird feeders. For chimes w/short "leads," I used some extended S hooks as first item on these hooks, then attached chimes easily. This style seemed least likely to allow chimes to be blown off the hook when we have a windy day.

So after going through a bunch of different clips to try and and hold up my patio lights, I decided to try these. My problem up until now had been that the weight of the lights was too heavy and would result in the clips releasing and many broken bulbs. These clips work differently firstly having a much more secure section that holds onto the gutter and then this snail like section that grabs the lighting cable. When the cable is heavy as was my case, the snail side that holds the cable actually stretches out without letting go and because the gutter section is so well anchored, everything stays in place nicely. I still added a few clips for security and peace of mind, but that one clip is holding well enough.

I've used these for maybe five years now to hang strings of (now) led lights around the house. They're the easiest I've found to securely hook to both the lip of my gutters and the thicker 110-v cord these strings use. The caveat is they're plastic and they're susceptible to weather. They get brittle and break after a year or two so don't put them in hard to get places.

These are WAY more durable than I was expecting. They are made of a really sturdy plastic. It gets pretty hot where I live (touches triple digets occasionally) and I had some concern about them softening due to heat, but I haven't seen any problems. I used them to hang industrial grade cafe lights on my back patio. I doubled them up (even tripled in some areas) - but they do the job really well...even with my fairly heavy lights. These are also really simple to use and kept me from putting any holes in my house for hooks.

These are some of the best, most versatile hooks I've come across. They works curly or eve-end (front or back) depending on the eve, and can also sneak behind siding and clip fairly well to j-channel, etc. We leave ours on the house for 3-4 months a year where they experience on average 20-30 degree F days, down as low as perhaps -10 at night, and still get 4+ years out of them.

I don't use these hooks for Christmas lights. I use them to hang hummingbird feeders on my front porch. My house (including the porch) has vinyl siding that extends to the underside of the porch. Metal hooks are too heavy. I tried several other kinds of hooks that didn't work. These do. I was delighted to find them online because I used all of the ones I bought at a yard sale. Yes, the hooks will stretch out from the weight of the hummingbird feeders so keep an eye on them if using for something heavy. I assume that lights would not be as heavy and would require less checking.

I used these to replace old gutter hooks that had been deteriorated by the weather and were falling off our gutters. The Adams Gutter Hooks are one of the best hooks as they adjust easily to fit many different configurations of gutter shapes. Very easy to put into place on the gutter and to hook the decorative light strands or any other object you might wish to hang. Worked great for the July 4th holiday in placing patriotic decor.
