I've really like this unit and reviewing it after 7 years. I finally gave up the ghost. The outdoor unit plastic rots from sunlite and becomes brittle. Still I would consider it to be well worth the money.I would mount a conventional rain gauge next to it at first to get and idea of what it is really reading and just mentally adjusting the value. I have bought 2 of these and tested them and they both were ready 40 percent low.I like the display and every 7 years I'll buy another.

I bought this to replace a 12 year old LaCrosse rain gauge. There is no way to see monthly totals in the default screen - only daily totals are available. In order to see totals for the month you have to scroll through ALL of the different total for all of the measurements - High/Low temperatures, humidity, etc. This, to me anyway, is just a pain in the a@%. Otherwise it seems to be good and accurate.

I love that the rain gauge is self-emptying. It keeps records for the previous day, week, month and year. The display also shows outdoor temp., humidity and heat index, indoor temp. and humidity, then an arrow indicates pressure up, down and steady with the time and date. A lot of info from an outdoor gauge and temperature/humidity units!

When my older rain gauge stopped working I chose this one as a replacement and it’s so much better than my older one. The set up is straight forward and each component connected to each other —it took a bit for the rain gauge to connect so we just left it overnight and in the morning it was on line. The rain gauge is quite sensitive down to 0.01 inch (which in our dry climate is sometimes all we get). The temperature is very accurate inside and out. We have no complaints and would purchase again.

I am not a big review writer, but when something goes well, I don't mind letting everyone know. I purchased this gauge in May of 2020. It worked beautifully for 11 months, at which point the base unit was no longer receiving data from the rain collector. An email to Acurite Customer Service got a quick response. They gave me some troubleshooting tips to try, along with the statement that if the steps fail, to let them know and a replacement would be sent. When I couldn't get the original unit to work, I replied to their email and a new rain collector/transmitter was shipped immediately. I received it in two days. Problem solved, and thanks to Acurite for the prompt warrantee service!

I purchased this Acurite Rain gauge with thermometer and humidity, around August of 2020. It worked for a while and then started to give incorrect readings and I replaced all of the batteries. Seemed to work Okay; however, early December it stopped working, again. Decided to contact their Customer Service, started a long chain of e-mails with information what to do to "check it out". None of this by phone, by the way and a lot of time between e-mails.. Of course, what you all have experienced lately, blame the virus, blame the holidays, blame vacations or whatever else they could come up with. But, more e-mails now asking me to get new batteries (an imposition since I now had to go out and spend more money), send pictures of the 3 items and send them. Unfortunately, I'm not technically nor physically capable of going through any of their suggestions, which to me were more impositions. I don't do pictures and I have other things to do, such as care for a physically challenged wife. It's the worst experience I've encountered in a long, long time.My advice to anyone, buying anything from this company would be to find another provider. The item is junk and not worth the price. I'll move on to something else and chalk it up to bad choices on my end, and accept the loss of the purchase price. I believe that their procedure is arrogant and designed to wear out a dissatisfied customer. They want you to do all of the work for them. And, by the way, they told me that they don't repair, so they won't take it back, in any event. Thanks for reading and save your money!

Got this unit and put the batteries in it and it was working right away. Had a couple of simple adjustments to get everything set the way I wanted and that was it. Had to wait for a couple of weeks to see if the rain gauge part of it worked, but when it did rain it was within 1/100th of an inch according to the weather on environment Canada for our area that night. Very happy with it so far. The temperature is very close as well.

Have not set mine up yet. But a good friend bought one a couple years ago and raved about it. Easy way of keeping track of the rain without having to dump it. Also has the features of the temperature and humidity

Bought this to replace an Oregon Scientific RGR126 (my second one) because you can't replace just the rain sensor on the 126 and those keep failing on me after a couple years. I decided to give AcuRite a try and so far I'm happy with it. More features than the 126 and costs less. One thing I do wish it had was the ability to go back in history day by day for 10 days or so. You can only step back one day and then one whole week, month, year, etc. I miss the day by day feature the RGR126 has so I can check rain totals day by day when I've left town. Other than that, so far so good, but it's only been a couple months.

I bought this as a replacement for a recently purchased (and returned) Oregon Scientific RGR126N rain gauge. The O/S unit had a very inaccurate thermometer and the manufacturer did not respond to my inquiries about it. Back it went to Amazon. This unit is the same price and it works. It also remembers the time and all it's settings when you change the batteries. The temperature can be calibrated so it matches reality, unlike the Oregon Scientific RGR126N. It also measures indoor and outdoor humidity which the O/S unit does not. The memory for cumulative rain, daily rain, weekly rain etc. are great. There's even an alarm to let you know when rain starts so you can close your windows or whatever else you need to do to prepare for rain.I did have a reason to contact their tech support by phone and their US based people answered the phone promptly and quickly gave me the answer I needed. This unit is a great value by itself and both the product and the company are heads above Oregon Scientific
