Unfortunately the guitar I was replacing the electronics in had a hole that was too big for this. But to test i just kinda taped it in place and it sounds fine, not as good as a Fishman with the mic, but as good as most stock piezo setups

I finally had time to install this on my 3/4 scale acoustic. The guitar is my "car camping, campfire song, traveling guitar", and every so often I need to bump up the volume. So far this preamp has worked great. Nice tones, and the 4 band EQ helps you dial it in. Parred with a rechargeable amp, I can now not only anger the neighbors at home with my playing, but all the people at the campground!(Not really. I keep things quite and usually use headphones when playing, unless at a show or open mic.)This little piezo pickup and preamp do work well. It is a bit nerve wracking to cut a hole in the side of your guitar, but if you're careful it is completely worth it. It would have been really nice if this included a template to tape onto the guitar so you knew exactly where to cut. That aside, the installation was a breeze. It is a nice little upgrade to my acoustic.

If you have a Dremel, drill, and some time, this is a decent, affordable way to amplify a cheap acoustic guitar. The piezo sits sandwiched between the bridge and saddle, so you'll have to drill into the guitar from the inner slot of the bridge to feed the piezo in there. You'll also need to Dremel two holes in the side and bottom of your guitar for the preamp and jack. If you feel comfortable with this, this isn't too much to handle. The sound is fine. I honestly hate the sound of all piezo pickups, but they do their job. Just add some reverb to chill the shrill. This one isn't the best I've heard, but it isn't the worst either. Having a built in tuner and eq is very nice and useful. It comes with what you need and nothing else, including fancy packaging. So, obviously, if you have a nice guitar, spring for a more premium offering, but if you have a cheap everyday workhouse that you want to plug in occasionally, this is a really fantastic, amazing value. Go for it.

I like the color display, I thought I will be the same size hole, but it is bigger than thought. I will use display part and not the battery side because It have different size holes. It work how I want. I will try later with an amplifier 25watts.

I have a vintage (1972) Ovation Balladeer guitar that did not come with a factory preamp and pickup (actually, they weren't available back then). Somewhere in the 80s, I had a Barcus Berry piezo pickup installed, but had to use an external preamp. This unit will be my upgrade to this old primitive system.I received the unit and upon inspection, it appears to be well-designed and will easily conform to the body contours of the guitar. This is going to require me to cut holes in the body of the guitar with surgical precision, and I want to be extremely careful so I don't destroy the integrity of this classic vintage guitar. This appears to be a fully-featured preamp and pickup with EQ controls, presence control, built-in tuner and a volume control. Installation is pretty straightforward and I am not anticipating having any issues. I have thoroughly examined the unit and I am happy with the build quality. It is inexpensive, but not cheap. I believe that it will be a good match for the guitar.I have researched other similar units, but they usually cost 3 times as much as this unit, so I think it is a very good value.I am planning on installing it in the next few weeks, and I will come back and update this review if I have anything interesting to report.

I'm loving these budget preamps these days! They sound great, and they get the job done for a fraction of the brand names. This package includes the preamp itself, the battery/output jack section, and an under-saddle piezo pickup, with all of the wiring harnesses necessary to connect everything inside your guitar. The only bummer here is that there are no instructions for how it all works, nor any paper templates for the holes that you'll need to cut in your instrument, so be sure to check out some instructional videos online if this is your first time doing something like this. It's not super complicated, but at the same time, you certainly want to find the right spots on your instrument of choice and cut and drill your holes right the first time. Once you have everything cut and installed, get your strings tuned back up, add a 9V battery, and now you've gone electric-acoustic!

Add a guitar preamp to any acoustic guitar. For an inexpensive guitar, this is a nice option for adding a preamp with tuner and equalizer. Very easy to install with patience and proper planning. You need to make sure you position this properly to fit the curve. A simple line connection and you're good to go. Very simple setup but effective.
