Easy to follow instructions. Does require drilling in the bed of your truck. Be certain that you can reach the underside of the hole you drilled to attach the nut.

I installed this on a Nissan Frontier. I used clamps to hold it down as I wanted the option to remove it if needed. However, this thing is rock solid, I'm so pleased with it that I may drill it in. It's great to have new tie-down points, and visibility out the rear window isn't impacted by the cage.Installation was a little tricky as one person, would be easier with two people. Package weighs 65lbs so keep that in mind. You'll want a ratchet with a 13mm socket to install. I did the whole thing in about 2 hours, but you can easily do it in half that.

This is not a bad product. I purchased this a few months ago & it has served me well for carrying kayaks & securing lumber. My advice, never use rope or bungee cords to secure anything to this. Always use ratchet straps!! The hardware that holds the individual pieces together isn't bad quality, it's just not thought through very well. The top bars you can secure kayaks & other stuff to, I recommend drilling holes all the way through & getting extra hardware from a local Lowes, Home Depot, etc;. Also, the paint job is not of the best quality nor are the welds. I haven't had this for very long & there's rust already forming, and the welded areas are the first place you'll see the signs of rust forming. For this, I recommend black rustoleum spray paint, or maybe even spray on bed liner. The only mounting hardware provided are bolts, nuts & washers, so you may want to order a set of clamps if you don't want to drill in to the truck. Overall it's a great rack system, with some modifications & purchasing some extra hardware, this system will last quite a while. In due time I plan on making a video explaining in more detail.

So for the price this is a great product. Looks good and seems pretty well made. Can’t beat the price. Is amazing to now be able to haul 16ft boards on top. The downside. A few of the bolts were missing. It took me awhile to install it. I’m a contractor and build things all week and I also spent 7 years building massive Steel events around the country. So I have a lot of experience putting things together. It took awhile. If you have to drill into your truck rail you will need a drill and a metal drill bit. You might need some extra bolts. Mine was short a few. I would say for the money this is a great deal. Looks good and holds lumber!Update: after having the rack for a few months. Love it! I have been using it to haul huge saw mill 16 ft boards and regular 16ft deck boards. The racks is amazing. Plus I love having the hook clips on the sides for rachet straps. Five stars! It looks good, is built well, and works great holding lumber.July 2024 update. 10 months after purchase. Fantastic!! It’s been amazing and a game changer to be able to haul huge boards safely. I haven’t had any issues with the rack. What’s also amazing about the design is the other week I had to pick up a pallet of paver stones. The stones were over the height of the back rack. No problem. With an Allen key I was able to take out the center of the rack. Took 2 min. Then I put it rack back after I unloaded the pallet. Five stars!!!

There was 1 ding in the part that has the small pipe but over all great for the price. Was easy to install although i had to buy a few extra bolts to mount it. I use them for my kayaks mostly but seems alot more sturdy than youd think.

It took the part about a month to get here and when I unpacked it, it definitely appears to be sturdy. Problem was it will not work on a 2021 Honda Ridgeline, that info was relayed to me by the Customer Support # in the documentation. I was impressed by their customer service specialist; he knew his stuff. Just disappointed that even though I entered my truck info before ordering I was not told it was not for this truck. Perhaps this was the first time ordered for this make/model. Thank goodness for Prime and the no hassle return policy.

So I have been seeking a solid ladder rack for a while to put onto my 2015 Ford F-250. I will be honest I went with this one to give it a chance and due to how cheap the price was. I was shocked at how solid it really is. The wire mesh that protects your back window is awesome as well. I saw a few people say it was too small but really it isn't. One person can install it but will be a pain in the butt so really have a friend help you and you will be done in under an hour. I also went with the c clamps to mount it and didn't bolt it to my truck as I didn't want to drill holes in the truck at all. You can't go wrong with this rack guys. It will hold the 800 pounds as they say it will with no issues at all!
