The most you can cut at 1 time is 2 sheets of paper. Sometimes that gets caught and crinkles the paper or just rips it. I would spend the money to get a better item.

This paper cutter is lightweight and cheaply made of relatively thin plastic. I tested it on regular copy paper and thicker, glossy ad paper from my junk mail. It can cut multiple sheets at a time, but the blade sometimes balks or bunches up the edge of the paper as it enters the cut. The plastic is that brittle kind that cracks easily under pressure. For light use cutting single sheets it will get the job done, but don’t expect anything durable. The hinge for the clear plastic guard is particularly flimsy- only a plastic peg in a hole. Not optimistic about its longevity.
