These screws were used to make a dog bed from PVC tubing and shade cloth. The screws need to be able to cut the fabric and drill into the PVC tubing. They work well for this application, but I will need to check for rust after rain since the bed is outdoors. I know they are zinc plated but still may rust if the plating was bad or scratched.

The screws held securely but, there was some difficulty getting them to penetrate through certain types of wood. Overall a fair value compared to other brands.

Self tapping screws are really handy for around the house repairs. I'm installing a dropout on my rain gutter and these are perfect for the job of joining the sheet metal parts. I also used them to install a roll of steel fencing wire over the bottom portion of my wooden fence to reinforce it and to discourage animals from digging under or pushing through it. Strategically placed along the roll of wire every few inches over the wood, and screwed directly into the wood boards with a small steel washer over the screw to secure the wire against the wood, these work perfectly and hold tightly. These are priced reasonably.

I have a dog who is an escape artist and managed to CHEW apart & bend the METAL bars of our privacy fence (that was installed expressly to keep her in the yard) to escape for a brief but traumatic jaunt down the road, within a few days of the fence being up. Needless to say a new solution was necessary, so I purchased a large roll of heavy-duty pet proof door screening and these screws to anchor the screen to the bars of the fence, so she can't get her head through them to chew the gaps wider anymore. These screws did the trick perfectly and hold the mesh screen in place without ripping it. The self-tapping function worked as expected: no pilot holes were necessary, even into fairly sturdy hollow metal posts. They tightened down satisfactorily and seem to be doing the job just great. I am pleased that none of the screws stripped out or broke. I ended up purchasing 2 more bags so I can apply the same treatment to the other side of my fence for a dual layer of screen protection - just in case!I would recommend this for similar applications, as it is gentle enough to anchor more fragile/flexible materials down and strong enough to get a good bite into metal, without the need for pilot holes.
