I love, love this xylophone. We have set it up in our preschool and we can break it up to have individual children use a note or we can set it up as a whole, with one child tinkering a tune. Great instrument to teach notes and sound. Great resonation!!

This colorful xylophone came carefully packaged along with a green plastic carrying case. It's perfect! My 2 year old grandson loves to play with this and it's easy to put it away and make sure the bells are in the correct position - labeled with the letters and the case has spaces marked out for each one and the sticks have a spot too. It closes up nicely. Such a fun toy!!

I did read another review where the reviewer felt the glockenspiel was not tuned properly. Maybe they have perfect pitch, and I don't, but the sound this makes is pretty sweet to me, especially given some of the obnoxious toys available today. It is a child's toy, not a professional instrument. I prefer these back to basics kinds of toys and this one is very well made with no sharp edges and bright, beautiful colors. I feel the price is appropriate for a well-made toy such as this one, and I am happy to have it in my home for the enjoyment of my grandchildren.

Each bell (bar and resonator) is on a different piece. If kids are using this, expect to be looking for the stray note or two if the kids don't put them away. The tuning of each bell is very good as received. The mallets are effective, and sturdy.

I'm really impressed with the quality of this glockenspiel. I bought it for my conures to play with, but given the quality, it seems a waste to have birds playing with it but they're spoiled. I like that the glockenspiel came in pieces so that I can scatter them around their play area - it's like buying them eight toys in one!My nephews also gave it a try, enjoying making music. It also gave me the opportunity to let them know the difference between a xylophone and a glockenspiel and I love educating.

This is a great musical toy. It’s slightly off pitch…but only by a little. I still use it in my music class since it’s only a little off.I like that you can play it in the case, but you can also take each piece/bar out and use it by itself!

This is a serious glockenspiel for kids. The notes ring clearly on pitch and resonate great for a long beautiful sound. The case is a little bulky but is like an actual adult glockenspiel, just kid size. The pieces for each note sit neatly in a little compartment in the case, one for each note. There are clips at the bottom inside the case for holding the sticks. The sticks are long and maybe a little flimsy if you are rough with them. My kids bent one but I was able to bend it back straight easily. This is an instrument which will sound beautiful no matter how you play it. A soft touch of the stick will produce a beautiful lullaby-type of sound; a hard hit will make the note ring out loud and long. My kids have no musical experience but they gently played on this glockenspiel and it was actually very relaxing and peaceful to listen to. If you can convince your child to play on it softly , or you want to give them a positive intro to an instrument that actually sounds like they know what they're doing, this glockenspiel is a great choice. I actually love it both to play and to listen

This is a great Xylophone kit for children... adequately sized, colourful and inviting for age-appropriate children.Affordable? As nice as I think this is, I think the price point is a little high, in terms of what you get here. It's certainly durable, BUT the pieces are not permanently placed. The upside is that you do, get a good, strong-quality case for this instrument, but that is dependent on keeping this instrument intact. The notes are pleasant, the sticks are exactly the right length for small hands, and this is certainly aesthetically pleasing to look at.It's a great little instrument, for young children who like making noise, it's good quality and has been artistically crafted for the right age group, with a considerate design.Great for motor skills, great for developing a "musical ear", and great for social interaction. To conclude, this glockenspiel is an excellent tool for children to experiment with music, fostering creativity as they create and combine sounds. It offers a smooth surface, the beaters/sticks feel durable, and the metal bars are different colours, which helps to differentiate each note and makes the instrument fun and engaging for your child.Nice quality, sturdy and well-built, all the keys appear to be in tune, with solid, perfect sounds. Not too loud, portable, and easy to pack away or take to Granny and Grandad's for the weekend...This could be an ideal first instrument for toddlers or young children to embark on their musical journey, it's pretty close to being compact, it's safe and child-friendly, and offers a brightly coloured overview of each note.Durable and well-crafted, but I do believe a little expensive.Apart from that, I think this is a great quality, fun and engaging instrument and could be a perfect choice for any young child to cultivate his or her musical sense.Thank you for a nice product!

The xylophone comes in a great case with each note nestled into place. Flip back the lid and you can start playing without removing the notes. The notes are all colourful, with a metal bar sat atop a plastic square prism. It all looks great. The notes are individually all in tune, starting and ending at C.The trouble is apparent the moment you start playing. Once you strike a bar, it continue to hold the note for a very long time - around 10 seconds on average. It's like playing a piano with the sustain pedal held down. After three or four notes, they all blend into one discordant sound. There's no way to change this. You can end a sound by touching the bar with your finger, but it makes a horrible ending to the note. The notes should be dampened by the xylophone such that each one lasts only briefly. As it stands it's impossible to play music on it and while it may entertain a child who enjoys making noise, I guarantee that it will drive you up the wall as a parent because it's quite loud too.

I bought this primarily to see if it was tuned well enough to use in my elementary classroom, and played each pitch into a tuner...every bar is completely on tune!! Highly recommend!!!
