This product will not play DVDs or BR on my new computer. I downloaded the recommended software and nothing. Waste of money. I guess I'll use it as an expensive hub for my accessories.

The Wbacon 8 in 1 External Blu-Ray Drive seems like a really cool item to have for any electronic aficionado. I was really looking forward to receiving this portable external Blu-Ray Drive. Out of the box, you receive the unit, which has both a USB port and a c-port attached, a nice carrying case, with a sturdy double zipper, and a user manual. The unit has all the ports described in the picture and can burn DVDs. However, to operate it requires a software download, and while the software is compatible with most operating systems, there are multiple steps to the download, and as I am somewhat cautious about what software I download, I used a second computer, and it took too long and each time the software wouldn’t activate. And the software replaces the search provider. However, the unit itself is exactly as pictured. I like the idea of the Wbacon external Blu-Ray drive, but unfortunately it took too much effort to activate the software.

the software it mentions in the instructions cost money which i dont really have, but using some advanced set up on vlc i managed to get it to work, and it plays my anime disc of dragon ball z good on vlc media player, tho the cord is a little short which is very annoying on my laptop cause it means i cant use it on my table

First off, this is a cheaply made Blu Ray player. You know you have a cheap product when they don't bother to provide drivers for it. I only had it two days and the eject button literally came off (check the picture to see how easy it is for the button to pop off). For those who wonder, the eject button is a small piece of triangular plastic that sits over a spring and is glued in place. All it takes for the eject button to come loose is for the glue to fail. If you add to that the fact that the spring underneath it provides a constant pressure, you can imagine how long it will last. It only took two days for me. I tried this blu ray player in a 2.0 port and a 3.0 port. I couldn't get it to work in any of the 2.0 ports, but it did come up when I finally plugged it in to a 3.0 port. Unfortunately, I only have a couple of 3.0 ports and I hated the idea of tying one up for this blu ray player. Once I got it to detect on a 3.0 port in a machine running windows 10 professional, I then checked its actual capability. I couldn't get it to work with VLC Media player. It did work with Leawo Free Blu Ray Player and Power DVD 22. I only tried a DVD, for the eject button popped off after ejecting the solitary DVD disc. So, Ican't cofirm its ability to play a blu ray disc. I also used the type A usb port to transfer some files from my computer to a Type A USB flash drive. Although it was attached to a USB 3.0 port, it functioned like a 2.0 port. It took quite awhile to transfer. So, the bottom line is that it's poorly made, but it's a cheap alternative to the $200 plus brands you might expect to work properly. This would be fine as a backup device, but I would never expect it to function long term.

I buy this for viewing my MRI results and copy some old data to the cloud. This item is amazing. I had one before but it’s noisy and very slow. This one is super fast and I get 20m/s copy speed.It’s also very extendable. With multiple usb 3, it’s good for my laptop to have more functionality.I think it’s worth the money even you buy for a extended port.

I purchased this player yesterday and received it this morning. While the driver seemed to load properly, neither of the Blu-Ray discs I tried could be played. The Blu-Ray player couldn't read either disc. I tested DVDs and CDs, and they worked fine, but I already have several DVD/CD players. This was a waste of money. I'm returning immediately.

I have been looking for a multi use disk player for a while. This thing really got it all. USB. Cd, blue ray, dvd, usb usbc camera storage. All connects to 1 USB cable. It comes with a case. My laptop feels useful again!

I bought this to play Blu-ray movies since my PC/laptop doesn’t have an optical drive. After some additional software setup, I was able to successfully play my movies. The drive also includes SD/TF card slots with transfer speeds around 30MB/s, and a USB hub with two Type-C ports for extra connectivity. Note that the Type-C ports are actually USB 2.0, with speeds around 45MB/s. The built-in USB A and C cables are convenient, though I’ll be keeping an eye on their long-term durability.
