My PS5 randomly stopped reading discs; out of nowhere no matter what disc I put in I got "unrecognized disc" error. Was able to fix it with this item. Not the easiest replacement project, but I was able to get it done following ifixit guide in about 90 minutes, and most importantly, IT WORKS!!!

My PS5 would read CD but not Blue-ray so I could not load games. The installation was a little delicate but not too bad. Be sure to keep track of where the screws went as there are several different sizes and types. My PS5 is back to normal after the replacement.

Was very careful about going through each and every step meticulously with an online youtube video i found. All the blu ray discs started working after the replacement. Make sure to use the same disc assembly as others have mentioned.

This worked perfectly! I replaced my PS5 laser, now it reads Bluray and PS5 games again! Easy via the iFixIt guide. One word of advice, make sure you put the mechanism tray back on properly and line use the little white arm!

This laser replacement was exactly what I needed to get my disc PS5 working again. I followed the iFixit guide and was able to get it installed with relative ease.
