Much too soft to actually scrub away the “harder to clean” types of saltwater aquarium algae.

Recently got the 6pPack of aquarium glass cleaners, and they have been quite effective. These cleaners work well for removing the scum that accumulates at the water line and are excellent for scrubbing off the green algae during water changes in my 70-gallon aquatic turtle tank. After three cleanings, I’m still using the first one from the pack by washing it in vinegar and rinsing it well between uses. They make maintenance much easier and keep the tank looking clean and clear. Overall, I’m very satisfied with their performance.

I use these to clean my aquarium glass of algae and mineral buildup. They don't seem all that special and are pricey for sponges, but they are aquarium safe so that's all that matters to me. I don't want my bettas to get sick because I used a regular housecleaning sponge. I use them, wring them out in clean water and leave them out to dry for the next usage. They seem to do a good job of cleaning my tanks. I also used this to clean a used tank I picked up recently. The tank had a lot of mineral deposits but this sponge got them off with a little elbow grease.

For some reason, aquarium safe scrub pads seem to be hard to find and overpriced. This pack of 6 for $10 is still way overpriced for what it is but is still one of the cheaper options I can see.The pads won’t scratch the glass (though you should always keep in mind that sand or similar in between the scrub and the glass will still scratch). I have not used this for acrylic so I can’t speak to how safe it is for that. Most scrub pads for sale at local stores that are usually used for household cleaning are not safe in an aquarium because they are infused with anti fungal chemicals so it is important to find some designed for aquarium use or perhaps at least that don’t include these chemicals.More glass-safe also means it takes more work to clean the glass. In freshwater, these pads will handle removing all algae. In a saltwater tank, this would struggle to remove coralline algae or other organisms that incorporate calcium.I do recommend these though, as stated, it seems like all of these scrub pads are overpriced. They are also nothing unique so it comes down to price. If these are a good price compared to the competition, get these.

All the sponges at the grocery store are marked "Not for aquarium use", so bought these so I could scrub an old aquarium. Worked like you expect sponges to work
