I'm a newbie in the pasta making world, in fact it's my first time as an adultThe instructions mainly have safety stuff in it (mostly useless) and are of no help in the process of making the dough.Comes with several different pasta shape templates and a plastic cutter and some tubes to make large noodlesI used the largest flat one since I'm not vary good at dough making and the noodles kept sticking togetherCould use a bit more fit and finish like with the design, color and shape.Press doesn't go all the way to the end, there's always a 1/4" left in the tube when doneI'm going to use it a few more times but I think I'll just stick buying a box of ready made stuff for $1 or whatever

For the first time using something like this, I have to say that it's easy to use and effective. It doesn't take long to make sausage or pasta and it's user friendly. It is cordless and that's the best part.

This is a great kitchen tool! I have traditionally used a manual pasta maker. This makes all kinds of noodles an extruded breeze! It is easy to use and easy to take apart to clean. Much better than a manual mill which often will have internals that can rust.I would suggest experimenting with using a lighter, less dense pasta dough of extrusion. The press worked better with a slightly wetter dough than I usually make. Without it, your linguini noodles will be quite rough-textured. I was very pleasantly surprised with this product!

I recently tried the COZYWELL Handheld Electric Pasta Shaper Maker. My son has celiac disease, so I often have to make small batches of gluten-free pasta specifically for him. Previously, cleaning the large kitchen aid to make his special pasta after making the rest of the family's was annoying and time-consuming. Additionally, making everyone gluten-free pasta was both expensive and not always appreciated by the rest of the family. The COZYWELL pasta maker has been a great solution as I can use it to make only his pasta in small batches without worrying about cross-contamination.This pasta maker has been especially helpful for tubular shapes, as they are the hardest to do by hand without a machine. The machine works on a similar premise as a playdough extruder, but what's great is that I don't have to rely solely on my hand strength to push the pasta through. I can even make the pasta directly into the pot of cooking water, which saves a ton of time. It has made the whole process of making gluten-free pasta much more efficient and convenient for me.

Battery operated extruder for dough or fillings. Fill the cavity with a small, shaped amount of filling, insert the die and the machine presses the dough out the end into hot water or counter to coat with flour. Makes small batches at a time. Recommended for versatility.

Ok...so it's not really a pasta maker....it's a pasta shaper. I need to make the pasta first, put it in the tube and then the tube squeezes its out in the shape. It's like a play dough pasta shaper. It works exactly the same! Even though the shape comes out as a type of pasta, it presses the dough together making it a bit chewy. I don't thinks its the pasta mix. Why? To push the dough through the holes there needs to be pressure. That means pushing the pasta tighter and tighter to form the mold. Again its a neat product for quick pasta dishes...but maybe not for the rest of us soon to be chefs.

So we got this unit and a similar one that attaches to our Kitchenaid. In comparison between the two, this one is SOOO much better. It's simple, and works. It's made of metal, rather than plastic. Few parts and easier to clean. I like how quick and easy it is to use. Yes, you do need to "make your dough" first by hand, but it's a "hand-held" unit, not a full-sized pasta unit maker (which we do have one of those as well, but this is so much easier and convenient to use, while our other one sits under the counter--and it's not the kitchenaid attachment). The one thing to note with this unit, this only does about (1) 3-4 serving batch at a time, limited by the length of the units piston, before needing to be reloaded. Also, this is a great unit if you have a split dietary family needs, like my wife is gluten-free, and so we can quickly make her pasta and ours.
