I really thought this would be really hard to install. But I needed to stabilize the pipe holding my shower head, and the escutcheon and pipe I had looked old and corroded.Thankfully this pipe and flange includes very detailed instructions that even included the size drill bit I needed to use. I wish more DIY items came with drill bit sizes.It took about an hour to complete although I worked very slowly and read the instructions several times. The result looks exactly as advertised, and I feel a great deal of pride every time I look at it.

I am a genius! I have finally fixed the shower in the front bathroom. Was going to be a simple, swap out the ancient shower head for a nice big rain shower head with a hand held. Well, of course that didn't happen. Ended up with some sort of abhorrent plumbing gone wrong thing coming out of the wall. Turns out it's a ball end pipe, very old. Tried to use an adapter, but the plastic ring on the pipe was so chewed up and didn't seal. A screwdriver and vice grips and I finally got the old pipe out of the wall. Cleaned it up, put some pipe tape on the new pipe and screwed that puppy in. I didn't need the attachment piece that comes with it. The escutcheon plate I as able to carefully push down to the wall to finish it nicely. Attached my new shower head and eureka, it works and no leaks!! This was exactly what I needed and just the right size.
