Great and effective way to change aquarium water and replace. Controlled water from going all over the place, no spills. Easy to prime hose by pressing on bulb to drain. Sucks up debris from gravel efficiently cleaning it.

I've owned numerous aquariums from 2 gallon up to 55 gallon, always more than one at a time. Cleaning them has always been a pain and water changes took a lot of time. I've had several siphon tools like this but have to say this one out preformed al the others. Just two easy squeezes of the bulb and water was flowing fast. The hook that came with it turned out to be very useful in keeping the hose end in the bucket, another pesky problem solved. The tube itself isn't very big around, about half the size of others I've used, but still fits my hand comfortably and gets the job done. It did not suck up any gravel and did not suck up bigger pieces of debris but handled the small stuff as expected. At the price I paid, under $15, I'm more than pleased wth this tool.

Love the ease of use for getting the water to flow. Hate gravel vacs that you have to shake up and down in the water and still for some reason, refuse to get a flow going. This eliminates that altogether, making water changes easier. Two squeezes and it's pulling water. Flow rate isn't super fast, wich means it wont pull out gravel and sand, but that also means it doesnt take out algae on the sand or gravel either. Types like bubble algae will not be removed with this, although its been my experience that no gravel vac works well on bubble algae. Lol. It does however remove light detritus which is good. If I could suggest a way to improve the product, I would say, find a way to increase the flow rate. But otherwise its a great vac.

My husband and I used to fight over who had to clean the fish tank and this made it soooo much easier! Keeps our water cleaner and makes the whole process more streamlined. Can be used in any size tank, which is a bonus for us as we have a small tank.

I am a new fish owner and the first time I cleaned my aquarium was a large undertaking. A friend suggested this product and what a gamechanger. It is so easy to use, makes the process much cleaner, and it actually made the whole experience pretty calming. Again, I dont have any experience this, my 4 year old got a fish for Christmas and I was worried about the time to clean, but this product is worth the purchase! So easy and does the job well and quickly:)

If you want this to easily siphon water out of the tank when you need to do partial water replacements, this works great. But if you want this for trying to clean the old food and waste from the gravel/substrate, it's only so-so. It sucks out the water pretty quickly, but it's not strong enough to make the little waste pieces suck up fast enough. It will suck out all of the water, before you are even remotely close to cleaning all the gravel.
