Putting sand in the hole isn't the easiest thing, but it was accomplishable with a little work. Once I filled as much sand as possible I also added water. The stand is heavy once filled and holds the umbrella in place exactly as described.

So far, this umbrella base seems like a solid choice! It's made of good-quality plastic, a nice size, and arrived lightweight since it comes unfilled. I like that you can add sand and water for extra stability. The hole fits my standard umbrella base perfectly, which is great! Since it's winter, I haven't been able to fully test it out yet, but I'll update my review later this summer once I've had more time to use it. For now, it looks like a great option!

Perfect replacement for a horrible umbrella stand we were using previously. We fill it with water and dump it out when this goes back in storage. Sturdy, doesn't seem like it will warp but we'll see how it holds up to a desert summer

This is a great umbrella stand. I used with my patio table umbrella. It fight perfectly and was easy to fill. I used water as my preference. It is pretty big but that makes me confident the umbrella will not lift up and blow away. Great item and priced reasonably

I had 2 umbrellas in my yard. I had one for my dining table and another bigger umbrella covering my loveseat. The umbrella over my love seat ended up flying across the yard and breaking right before this base was delivered. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to really test this out until I get a new umbrella. What I can say is that this is much bigger than my other umbrella stand. The plastic feels more durable, too. I like that it came with different inserts to fit different diameter poles. The pole on this is metal and screws securely into the bottom of the base. I got a bag of sandbox sand to add to the base with some water. It does have a good weight to it. This umbrella stand is as described and feels durable, so I am giving it 5 stars. I will come back and update this review when I get my new umbrella and get to really test it out.

I really like the idea of these fillable umbrella bases, as they are very lightweight and easy to move around when empty and can be filled quickly with water to provide a stable base for a variety of umbrellas. We use this base with an 8' standard hexagonal umbrella and it fits with the base perfectly, with the two secure screws holding it in place without issue. The base is wide and resists tipping, though it is pretty tall and prone to catching feet if it's somewhere people walk, so watch out for that. My previous fillable bases both cracked and leaked (without having frozen water in them) so time will tell how durable this base is, but the plastic feels thick and does not deform when pressed, leading me to believe it's quite sturdy plastic. I'm optimistic this will be a nice, usable umbrella stand throughout the three seasons we use our umbrellas and will update this review if the longevity suffers.

The product is fine however it was suppose to have a allen wrench and a set screw. Neither was in the box.
