I ordered M6, but the thread pitch was wrong. Turns out they sent me 1/4-20 in a bag labeled M6, which is a big deal when you're permanently installing these into something valuable like a vehicle.I happened to have 1/4-20 bolts on hand so I'll keep them, but buyer beware they can be a bit careless with sizing. (At least with M6 specifically, since the size is very similar to the naked eye). Otherwise fine.

These M5 rivnuts are perfect for mounting water bottle cages on bikes that don't have fittings or for use anywhere you can drill through metal and want to fasten with an M5 allen head screw. Perfect for custom mounting battery packs to bicycle frames for ebikes, too.

One thing I found adding these to my window frame on my Harbor Freight blast cabinet. If your adding these to just one layer of sheet metal, the metal on the cabinet being thin these don’t crimp real tight everytime. Meaning you run out of compression with the install tool. I had to drill 3 out because they spun when I put the bolts in. Trying to drill them out, they will spin so I had to grab the backside to hold it. I started using a washer on top before putting on the installing insert holder part of the installing tool. That let’s it pull/crimp full pressure to keep it tight. I spent more time drilling out the 3 than installing the 7. 2 layers or more metal you’ll have great success. I’m buying more sizes for future projects.
