I used these inserts for a few art projects, and they worked out great! They were easily trimmed (where needed for my application), and have been used confidently. Good price, and shipped quickly.

I made my own tool to install these with. I needed these to install a seat on my 15' boat. I drilled a hole and pulled them with my homemade tool and they held tight. They hold the seat in place with no issues.

Im writing this review three years after purchase and installation. I used this product to provide anchors for an aluminum boat floor. The idea was to be able to remove the floor to clean out once a season. While these work OK for some amount of time they really didn’t hold up in my application (movement of a boat, towing, etc.) They eventually worked their way loose and would free spin as I would try to remove them. This led to me having to use a grinder to remove them. This happened to approximately 50% of the rivnuts in this 3 year period. These might work better for you in a more tame setting but I would advise avoiding these for any vehicle/boat/trailer application.

As you know anything other than stainless steel attached to aluminum can cause severe corrosion, and even this will corrode only much slower. So why not use aluminum to aluminum like these fasteners?! The price was right and they worked FANTASTIC!!!

Used for mounting an amp rack to the back wall of my truck. I chose aluminum because I didn't have the correct tool, I used a long bolt and 2 nuts to install these

The work well just had to pay closer attention when compressing them into the project not to pull the threads out being aluminum
