Quarantining before adding to my tank but there are so many plants and all look very healthy. I was a little unsure when I received the package because it comes in a small plastic bag but once the duck weed hit water it all floated beautifully and the leaves look very green with healthy roots.

I don't know what 500 of these little plants looks like, but I DO know this was a very generous amount! Healthy and green with fast shipping. Thank you SO much!UPDATE: While it's just been a few days I wanted to add an update because of all the curiously negative reviews. When I opened the doubled ziploc bags, there was no odor that I noticed. The plants were green with lots of roots. and the amount of plants was VERY generous. I immediately put the duckweed in my 'pond' pot, swished them around and called it good. Have been watching the last few days, and even in the filtered HOT Hawaiian sun, these little plants are looking good. Just my 2 cents.

These took about a week and 2 days from the time I ordered them to when they arrived. They were delivered to the mailbox in snowy weather, and I picked them up about 20 minutes after they were delivered, so they weren't there too long; basically they shipped fine in cold weather, no problems on the carrier end. Arrived in a ziplock bag in a bubblewrap envelope so nothing fancy with the packaging. Absolutely zero scent whatsoever; very different from other reviews. They were all bunched up and maybe 10% had died, but the rest are green and look heathy. There was some debris, so be aware of that, but I expected nothing less. The plants themselves are small.Writing this review just after they arrived. Using them in a tank with no other plants or animals in the water; check instagram @cy_scalemodels for the project I'm using them in since it's too hard to describe here. Will update this review if anything bad happens. No update = everything a-ok.TL;DR Shipped fine to NM in the winter with snow; less than 10% death upon arrival; assorted debris with them; NO SMELL; so far so good; see instagram @cy_scalemodels for the project I'm using them with; won't update review if anything is good.

I always place my duckweed in a small holding tank (to keep from introducing anything bad into my goldfish tank). So I put this batch of duckweed into my 10 gallon water tank that I use to water my house plants via drip irrigation system. It sits at the base of my plant shelf with a plant light about 8 feet up above and it the shelf sits in a well lit location. Duckweed normally grows in this tank very well (hubby thought he was helping me out when he filled my tank with non-treated tap water a month ago and it killed my long standing and regenerating supply of duck weed. So I ordered this batch to restart my feed stash for my goldfish.1st off the cup it was stored in had leaked ALL the water into the shipping package... entire package was soaked and I was surprised the post office delivered the dripping package. Then once I opened it I noted that the cup had no water left inside and the smell was horrid (but duckweed tends to stink so I wasn't too worried about it... although it was like strong septic smell). So once I placed it in the tank I always use... day one it looked like it would do ok and just needed time to spruce up. By day 2 more than half of it was just gone... vanished. By day 3 I was down to about 25% of the original purchase. Now there is almost NO duckweed remaining... all that is left is my frog bit that I also grow in that same tank... so I know the lighting and water quality are fine... poor quality duckweed. Will not buy again

I was so excited to get these however my excitement was short lived. When I opened the container they smelled of raw sewage. They were green and clumpy in a plastic container. I Checked the box for a note that may mention the smell or have instructions and didn't find any, so I checked the Amazon page and found the same. I left the plants in the container and contacted the seller who said the smell was normal and to rinse the plants in non chlorinated water and not leave them in the sun. I used a vase (I wanted something made of glass so I could bleach it due to the rancid smell) to rinse them with water from my planted fish tank but the plants died the next day and rinsing them didn't really remove the sewage smell.I contacted the seller who couldn't have cared less. I sent a picture of the plants in a vase I had used to rinse them off with fish tank water on my stove and he told me that was an inappropriate container and the curvature could cause the plants to die and was I sure I followed his directions.Save yourself some wasted time, excitement, and money. Buy locally so you know where your plants are being grown and what they are being grown in.

The duckweed arrived in a small ziplock bag. The water had been wrung out of the plants completely. I'm guessing this was done to reduce shipping costs. I wasn't sure the plants were going to survive because they looked terrible (I ended up losing close to half of the plants). I split the plants between two containers. I put air stones in both and a heater in one. The duckweed in the container with the heater is growing well. The unheated container of duckweed is just kind of sitting there. I am happy with the product overall, but I dinged them one star for stressing me out worrying that the plants weren't going to survive the shipping. Had they explained the condition the plants would arrive in, I'd have given them 5 stars. The quantity of plants seemed to be more than 500 which makes up for some the dead plants. My fish will eat the duckweed when they get hungry and don't have anything else to eat. Will see how well the chickens and rabbits like it once I grow more.
