Frequently fertilize a water lily once a month depending on the fertilizer type and the size of your container.
No Pond No problem! Water lilies are thriving in a container.
Here are few tips to grow.
Water lilies are perennial plants that shoot in spring, flowering late spring until fall and going dormant in Winter.
Most water lilies will grow with 30-60 cm of water above the surface of the soil in place they are planted. Obviously, smaller type likes to be nearer.
Use heavy soil intended not fluffy one. Cover the soil with rocks pea or gravel.

All the tubers arrived in excellent condition. The three hardy were in one bag, and the tropical were in another bag. Note that the blue is a tropical. I didn’t realize this before they arrived and I could see the species was different. We’re having very cold weather here in Michigan. I put the tropical in a vase inside for the next few days as it’s cold but I put the hardy ones right outside in the pond so they can start to grow.Update: all the tropical ones, (blue’s and purples) died. One died after only a few days but a month in the pond and all tropical dare dead. The hardy lilies, the red, pink, and yellow, are all doing well. I don’t think I’ll risk a blue or purple again.

After buying lilly pads for so many years to stock my 2 acre pond, these are the healthiest that I've ever recieved from any merchant. I really expect to see new growth within a week and not next season. It's a constant battle with natures critters to get nearly any flowering plant to survive as they are their food source. The only thing to grow like a wildfire was the Lotus plant which I had to remove..way too aggressive. It made my water unfishable. You won't regret buying from these folks.
