These seem well made and easy to use. We're not using them with a traditional hydroponic growing system, but rather a little garden in our window. They definitely absorb water well and swell up quite a lot. They should provide a good medium for our herbs. We haven't had any sprouts yet, but it's still early and time will tell how well they work. If you do have a traditional hydroponic station, these should fit perfectly.PACKAGING:You get 100 of these all wrapped up in a bag. It's not like they're fragile so there's nothing wrong with that.FITMENT:They look like they would fit in a traditional growing station. We're using them in a little window planter and they work well.QUALITY:Just your good, general purpose grow sponge.VALUE:You get a lot of sponges for the money!

Each of these sponges are very small. They are not the correct standard size for my hydroponics system. They also are disintegrating. They break easily when I am watering them and inserting the seeds. There are a lot to the package, but they are not good quality.

They are well made and nice and perfect for my hydroponics system! They are a bit on the longer and skinner side but nice! Work exactly as intended and well. I found them easy to cut open and remove from roots if needed as well.

It can be concerning when you see mixed reviews on a product. Anyone that is into hydroponics needs thousands of thee little grow sponges. Who wants a large quantity that all fail? These appear to work as well as any brand I've had. As long as they stay together and let the roots propagate, I'm happy. I'm thinking maybe other folks had a bad batch. I am hopeful that the whole bag I received is 100% fine, hence 4 stars as I don't know yet. If these aren't right for you, there are hundreds of options online.

I have successfully grown herbs in these in a knock off hydroponics system. They fit fine after soaking.I have grown basil, chives, and catnip in these so far.They are a little more dense than others I have used and it feels like the roots do not penetrate as well. But otherwise I do not see any difference. The plants managed to grow.

Doter Grow Sponges for Hydroponics work great in my Aerogardens. They're a little more rubbery and dense than the ones that come with the gardens, but as long as you get your seeds down into the little hole in them, they work just as well. I am using them for both growing straight in the Aerogardens, with lettuces, herbs, peppers, and tomatoes as well as seed starting to put stuff outside as soon as the frosts are over. They seem a little small for the Aerogarden baskets at first, but they grow in size and fit fine once they get saturated. I haven't had any issues with them crumbling or breaking. No issues with algae growing on them so far, but we'll see how that goes.
