Pretty much all PC's today have 2.5GB Ethernet Ports and even though Wi-Fi continues to improve, it still can't compete with a solid ethernet connection. For the best connection possible for your PC, get this REAL HD 5 port 2.5 GB switch and plug it into the 2.5GB port on your router using one of the SMOLINK brand Cat 8 cables...all very reasonably prices. Make sure your PC(s) as well are plugged into the switch with CAT 8 SMOLINKs. The SMO's are solid oxygen free single strand copper with double insulation...they're the ones to get. I went from 485 Mb/s to over 2200 MB/s. Best possible upgrade for around 50 bucks.

Assuming you have 2.5g ports on all of your devices this is a solid little drop in switch. All of my devices automatically detected the increased capability and worked without issue. It's important to note that this thing alone won't increase your internet speed, You need to have a high enough speed to utilize the higher bandwidth ports from your ISP if you want a connection to the internet to hit 2.5g. That said you can use it for internal networks between 2.5g capable devices without issues.

Had issues with network dropping out along with overheating, anytime speeds near gigabit were achieved on my network, it could not even get close to 2.5 gigabit. this includes on standard ports and on my SFP card. I returned this and bought the ubiquiti Flex Mini 2.5G 5-Port Switch, so while I technically have one less port, it integrates in with my Layer 3 Ubiquiti master switch down in my rack much better.

After hooking it into my et12 system , modem into router 2.5 and from 2.5 back into the switch I ran my Backhaul and then pc into the switch. Everything worked full tilt with no drop in speed doing a full speed test and home speed test and a file transfer wirelessly from pc to laptop on WiFi it never slowed down. This was all the while streaming on 3 Android boxes at the same time- I have 2 gig speed with frontier and this switch did everything I needed it to. Impressed for the price!

I purchased four of these RealHD eight port managed 10gbps switches. The build quality seems good (heavy metal enclosure, RJ45 ports and other fit and finish good.)The management through the web page is somewhat basic, but does what it needs to.I'm getting great throughput and no problems with a large number of different interfaces connected to them auto negotiating appropriately. The power cable is harder to get seated in the IEC socket on the back than a lot of other equipment and the cord is shorter than I needed for a couple of them but both were minor issues.Of the four switches, I did have one that would lose its config when powered down. I contacted support (through cctvsupply, inc, which surprised me originally as amazon mentions it as the RealHD store.)They called back quickly and shipped a replacement out very quickly with a label to return the switch with the problem.Excellent support. Five stars for the support!

The price seemed too good to be true. But I'm running it in a medium size business, and so far it's been perfect, delivering full speed to all 24 ports (I'm using 22 of the 24 ports). I'd say "give it a try". I have cat 6 wiring in place, and it's giving me full bandwidth across that cable. It claims it can do so with Cat5e, which makes this worth a try in almost any installation.

Was kinda hesitant to buy since I had never heard of the RealHD brand, but it works perfectly.I tested on a local network between two PCs with Steam installed using the Local Network Transfer feature that Steam has. Normally my Gigabit internet will max out at 100 Megabytes (1Gb), as is expected. With a regular Gigabit switch between the PC's, local transfers also maxed out at 100 Megabytes, as expected. After hooking them up to this 2.5Gb switch, I tripled my speeds to 300MB!!!Transferring games between our local network is a breeze now, so if anyone else in the house wants to play a game, only one person has to actually download it and everyone else can locally transfer it at 3X the speeds. That alone is worth it, and since we don't have greater than Gigabit internet speeds at the moment, we'll still be ready if it ever is available in our area since our routers are 2.5Gb capable as well.Excellent product. Highly recommend!
