These large height-adjustable stakes are used to surround plants with protective netting. In my case, I have rose bushes the neighborhood deer will eat to the bare stems unless I protect them. Deer deterrent spray doesn't work. This particular set of stakes is a set of four. Each set has the base section to go in the dirt, the top forked section to catch the netting, and 3 extension sections to use as you wish to set various heights. According to how many, if any, extensions you use, your stakes could each be of 4 different length: 31.5inch, 47.2 inch, 63 inch and 79 inch. The stakes are very sturdy and, if firmly planted into the soil, should hold up will to the force of the elements. The pieces are made to screw into each other and are coated in a black enamel paint. I think they will do well for a few years. Two negatives: 1) the stake extension rods are not all perfectly straight at their screw joints, if you are particular with that. They give the appearance of being slightly bent at the joint. Once assembled and surrounded with netting, it might not be noticeable. and 2) The base stake's main post has a sharp pointed end to pierce the soil. However, its offshoot also piercing the soil has a blunt flat bottom which will not cut through the soil as easy. Suggest that you mount these after a good rain or soak the soil where you are placing them to soften the soil first. Otherwise getting them into the hard ground might be a chore. These stakes are similar to the harp posts you can buy but of a simpler design.

I was very disappointed in these stakes. I was utilizing them to make a canopy to cover 2 baby swings at my daycare and after 2 weeks the one just bent and broke. Unstable as well.

Hard to put together, not sturdy, bend easily, awkward to use, not sure I would recommend

These are not very strong. In fact, I actually doubled them up and taped them together to give them more strength. They’re too thin.

Good quality to use for shade cloth, good height and easy to assemble by just screwing the poles together. Works well to support even very large shade cloths.

Honestly I am not sure they deserved three stars. They look ok out of the package but once I got them in the ground and attached the shade cloth it began to go wrong. Three of the four poles bent at several points where they were screwed together. Only one managed to hold shape and I made sure they were all tightened. Save your money and get one piece sold metal poles.
