This is supposed to protect my lens from physical trauma as well as stray light, and the materials and manufacture seem to be high quality. I've had inexpensive lens filters with distorted threads that nearly caused damage running against the lens threads. Carefully, with that in mind, I held the lens with the glass skyward, slowly lowered the metal hood onto the lens, and gently applied some twist to see how the threads felt meshed. Good fit. Recommended.

This is a sturdy metal screw-in lens hood. It works just fine. I stcrewed it into a split rim adjustable polarizing filter already on the lens. It further reduced flaring. The cap fits snugly and looks great. I recommend this product.

I bought this hood for the 50mm lens on my freshly-out-of-retirement Pentax ME Super, and I must say so far I am pleased with the result. Items come well packaged and the metal of the hood seems to be pretty sturdy. I wasn't quite sure how I felt about it at first, until I took a silver sharpie to the end of the hood. Now I think it looks fantastic, and it took me all of 5 minutes to do.Overall, it's a good little lens hood that'll afford you the ability to loosen up a little bit when you're out with your camera due to the added security. That alone is worth the 8 dollars, plus the actually job of the hood, light control, is also well taken care of. My only gripe would be the quality of the lens cap, but even then it's functional and gets the job done, just doesn't feel the best in the world to use.For 8 bucks? Just buy the thing.

It’s my favorite lens hood and now I own 3. 62mm thread onto the lens with a 67mm thread on the open end. Screws right into place and it’s ready to go. I’m using it on a 19mm wide prime lens with zero issues. However I bought another one for my 28-105 zoom and it showed up from 28-35mm. Just a word of caution go for the wide angle hood for the zooms which I did and is also on this listing. I mean they’re super cheap, come with a decent lens cover too and will protect not only from light on the lens but a bang or two on the floor or other bumps. The lens cap comes with a piece of string to use as a cap saver but I just bought some other ones that will work much better so just a heads up what you see in the photo is not what the lens cap comes with.
