Prepare for 3hr assembly and use a cut off wheel if needed, was needed for me to attach the handle which is the most difficult part

This is a 40 inch pull behind dethatcher. This is John Deere green, and it looks like it belongs with our tractor. This arrives disassembled, and assembly is a bit of a bear. It is doable, but probably ask someone handy if you're not. The quality of this is good, basic. The metal is thick enough to support weights on this. This functions acceptably, but it isn't as good as a dedicated machine. This helps either way, and it can help prep soil for over seeding. Overall this seems like a decent value at this price.

This dethatcher is a highly durable and efficient lawn care tool designed to make debris/moss removal easier. Weighing in at 41.5 lbs, it has a reinforced structure and steel spring teeth which ensures long-lasting durability even under heavy use. With 40-inch wide coverage and 2 rows of 10 curved spring steel tines, this dethatcher efficiently removes thatch, leaves, branches, moss and other lawn debris, reducing effort compared to manual rakes. The adjustable lift handle allows you to easily raise or lower the tines, while a spring adjustment feature lets you customize the angle for optimal performance.Designed for versatility, it features a universal hitch pin for easy attachment to mowers, tractors, or ATVs, with an adjustable tow arm to suit various hitch heights. Liked the price and loved the results of this quality dethatcher.

The directions for this are seriously lacking, the hardware was incomplete and I’m not sure if it’s going to stay together. Placing and attaching the tines was the most difficult. It took 2 hours to assemble. The packaging was well done and it arrived in great shape. I’m hopeful it will work better than the assembly went.

This is a budget level dethatcher that works fairly well. Assembly isn’t hard, just annoying and frustrating. The instructions really could be better but that’s about par for the course for import items nowadays. I wish it came with a regular 1.5” or 2” hitch that fit a standard receiver, as I’m using it with a UTV and had to do some tinkering to get this style hitch to work.Once finally hooked up, I learned really quickly the importance of adding a LOT of weight. Unless your lawn is pristine, it wants to bounce up and around when it meets any resistance at all and fails to dethatch anything. And two cinder blocks won’t cut it. How much really depends on your lawn and soil type. Mine took about two small children sitting on it to get it to work, which is totally unsafe and definitely not something I would ever do. But really it was probably 130lbs on it before it would work well. That said, I’m using it on a rural property with a yard that is an absolute disaster. Your average suburban lawn would probably require less.Overall, it works reasonably well and is a lot cheaper than hiring someone to do the job. For what you get it’s a decent value and should last forever unless you’re running a professional dethatching side hustle and using it lots more than your average person.
