This ceramic egg maker has a glazed finish. This is very nice for the cup part of the egg maker. It would be nice if the very top of the lid was unglazed so there would be some texture to hold on to. The lid is smooth and with the shape my fingers tend to want to slide off the top. If the lid included a ridge or knob at the top it would also be a big improvement. As far as working for microwaving an egg, it does a good job. I add a small dab of butter and melt it for a few seconds before I add my egg. It only needs to cook for less than a minute and the egg is ready. It really works very well and if the egg pops the lid catches the mess. The clean up is very simple also. I just add a drop of soap and wash up the cup and lid.

This is a quick and easy method to roast garlic. No issues after using a handful of times so far.

I use this to roast garlic. It’s fairly small but you can fit a good amount of garlic in it. The ceramic feels like good quality and I had good results using it.

If you're like me and struggle with cooking breakfast before your brain fully wakes up, then it might just be the best thing you can have in your kitchen. Seriously, I was skeptical at first. How could something that claims to cook eggs, roast garlic, and bake omelets in 45 seconds be worth the hype? Well, after using it a few times, let me tell you – it's worth every penny. First off, the design is simple and clean, not that bulky mess you sometimes end up hiding in the back of your cupboard after a few uses. It fits perfectly in your microwave and is just the right size to keep out of the way but still be easily accessible. But the best part is how it makes breakfast a breeze. I’m not a morning person, so cooking eggs in a skillet always felt like a workout – too much standing around, flipping, and hoping I don’t burn myself or the food. With it, all I have to do is crack an egg into the cup, close the lid, and pop it in the microwave. The result? Perfectly cooked eggs in under a minute, no effort required. Omelets are just as easy. No more dirty pans or worrying about it falling apart while you flip it. It really does live up to the “fast omelet maker” claim. You just toss in your ingredients, close the lid, and 45 seconds later, you have a fluffy, cheesy omelet ready to go. It even works for garlic – I’ve roasted garlic in it, and it does wonders for adding that extra flavor to your morning bagel. The garlic roasts perfectly without needing to watch it like a hawk, which is nice because we all know how easy it is to forget about garlic and burn it. Also, a fun little bonus is how it keeps your garlic fresh. It really does help preserve the garlic for longer, so no more worrying about garlic spoiling too quickly and needing to replace it every few days. I will admit, at first, I had a bit of trouble figuring out how much time to microwave it for certain things, but once you figure out the right amount of time, it becomes second nature. And the clean-up? A breeze. I was expecting to spend hours scrubbing the inside, but it’s super easy to clean, just a quick rinse under warm water. I’ve even tossed it in the dishwasher a couple of times, and no issues with it at all. One thing that I’ve learned, though, is to make sure you don’t overfill it because that can cause a mess, but once you figure out the right portions, you’re golden. It’s been a total game-changer, especially on those days when you’re in a rush and just want a simple, filling breakfast that doesn’t require much effort or time. I’m honestly shocked by how much I use it now – it’s one of those gadgets that I didn’t think I needed but now can’t imagine going without. The egg on a bagel maker part has been perfect for me too. If you’re in the mood for a quick breakfast sandwich, just pop an egg in it, toast your bagel, and you’re done. Super quick, no mess, and a perfect egg every time. It’s become a staple in my kitchen, and I couldn’t recommend it more. If you're looking for something to simplify breakfast or to make quick meals for busy mornings, this will change your life. Seriously.

Got this for making poached eggs in the microwave. Didn’t want to poach eggs in silicone, prefer ceramic. This is a garlic keeper, but it does work for poaching eggs, as the listing notes. It’s the perfect size for one or two eggs. Used only a little water and a splash of vinegar. It’s a little awkward/inconvenient to remove the lid – the lid and dish is hot and when you remove the lid need to be careful of the steam as well… wearing gloves is fine, except the lid is hard to grasp with large gloves. I haven’t roasted garlic in this dish, assume it will work well also, but you would run into the same issue with the hot lid. I am not sure I want to eat an egg omelet that’s microwaved but that’s a personal preference. For poached eggs this is appropriate and works fine. Easy to clean also. Recommend for egg poaching or as a garlic keeper/roaster.

This is a ‘mixed’ reviewIf you know exactly what you want and this fits the bill. It’s a good product, though I’d have some cautions. This comes very well packaged and won't break in transit if you send it as a gift. Caution #1: it comes with no instructions. Unless someone has had one of these before, they might not know how to use it, so provide them with some instructions.Does it cook an egg for a breakfast sandwich? Yes. Does it roast garlic? Yes.Does it more than that? No. It’s too small. It can’t handle even two eggs without them cooking so high they push the lid up.I got this to try microwaving eggs again, something I did long ago and had forgotten about doing until I saw the ad and thought it might be a better way. Cut to the chase: it was not because I like two eggs for breakfast, not one, and because of Caution #2..Caution #2: The instructions on the Amazon page warn that it will be hot to come out of the microwave, and the video shows a cook wearing oven mittens doing that, so you’re fair-warned about that. However, when you place this on a counter and need to get the top off, it’s slippery and hard to do. The bottom part has a small ‘lip’ on each side that makes it easier to grip when taking it out of the microwave, but there’s nothing to grip the top with to help take it off. My oven mitts and potholders don’t have any ‘gripping’ material like rubber or silicone on them. I finally took my fork and lifted the lid off, letting it flip over on the counter. It didn’t break, by the way. That last caution won’t be a problem if you use it to roast garlic, because you’ll be able to allow it to cool and lift the top off with your fingers. With these cautions in mind, it will work for you if you need one egg for a breakfast sandwich, and it's the perfect size for that.
