Works in a pinch but this is smaller than the average size shovel and not very sturdy

For a lot of people that do gardening, this could be a really great shovel. I have a full-size shovel in the photo above the show the size difference. The shovel does seem very strong. I’ve had shovels like this that connect similarly. I have to say even though the other one is solid, wood handle that that metal handle even screwed together is stronger than that wood handle. This does a great job and is very impressive. I really think the shovel is high-quality. it’s just small and that’s why I put the photo so that you will know that it is a smaller shovel. The shovel is not only good for gardening. It’s good for working around pipes and things where you need a smaller shovel to get into tighter areas, but a big shovel won’t work and then you can kind of go down to hand tools if you need to.

I ordered this shovel because of the fact that it can be disassembled and stored in a small space. I keep the shovel on my boat for when we go to small beach islands and need to shovel sand into sand bags to weigh down beach umbrellas and a pop-up awnings so that they do not blow over in the wind. This shovel works well for that type of light-weight job but I don't think I would want to use it for any type of major shoveling in actual dirt because it is too small. The head is small and the handle's overall length is about six inches shorter than a typical shovel. As I mentioned, this shovel works great for my needs because it is compact when you take it apart but you may want to look elsewhere if you are looking for something to do major chores in the garden like digging holes for planting.

I like that the handle is adjustable for whatever height that is comfortable for you. It has a nice heavy duty handle and is of good quality. I like the small size that makes it very easy for digging and planting with its sharp blade.
