I've put together dozens and dozens of Agri-Fab, Ohio Steel, and Brinly-Hardy attachments over the years including tow-behind dethatchers. This is the worst pull-behind attachment I've ever dealt with. The design is poor, the instructions are terrible, and you'll possibly question your sanity as you figure out how to assemble it.The instructions aren't clear, the parts don't match the diagrams or descriptions, and I'm pretty certain I don't have the proper parts to put it together, but I have no way of knowing for sure. Based off what I'm seeing I'll likely have to fabricate parts or go buy extra things at the hardware store just to get it assembled. Even when I do get it put together I'm questioning how effective it will be based off what I'm seeing.Skip this one unless they make some improvements.... Go buy a better one and maybe if you buy one from a dealership they will possibly assemble it for you as well. This one has hardware issues, parts issues, instruction issues, and just doesn't seem worth it to me.

I was really excited to get this as it would be great for raking my lawn. But the excitement left me very quickly. The instructions are horrible. For something that should take an hour to assemble, I was very aggravated when it took several hours to assemble, disassemble, and reassemble. The instructions are not clear and some steps are out of order. The build quality is average but I would not waste my time with it.

I had another dethatcher like this one that was very similar to this one. It does take a while to put it together, because it has a lot of parts. I dont pay much mind to that, because all of them are that way, unless you buy them from a store that had someone assemble it before hand. I used it to do a small portion of my yard, and it worked pretty well, the same as my last model anyway.

I got this to take care of a bad yard. Assembling was a little problematic. I have never assembled one before and to me the instructions were not the best. The spring arms did finally get into place correctly. The tow arm is well-made for this design and attaches to my mower easily. You’ll have to use weights to have it function properly. A quick test run on hardened ground did show it started to remove some of the thatch. I would recommend this for people that have experience assembling and using one.

To get right to the point the build quality is okay that is not the issue here , the main issue was how hard it was to assemble because of the terrible the instructions that came with this are and how little it did to help , so I put this toghter by trial and error . And overall for a small pine needle rack it is ok not great just ok but it does get the job done cleaing up the pine needles on my trails. They need to include better instructions and that would make this a bit better of a product overall .

Like may others before me I have been brought to tears by the HORRIBLE instructions that came with this item. The fonts are size 1 and the drawings terrible. Some bolts listed are not in the instructions so what do I do? Several items were missing and required me to go to my local hardware store and buy. The product appears to be Ok but no one should have to spend hours putting this together. DO NOT BUY!!!

You get 13 hex bolts M8x25, nuts, lock washers and flat washers. In the assembly instructions diagrams it shows your where to put the bolts and nuts, but not the flat and lock washer. The problem is that some of the diagrams DO show the use of the washers. So it's confusing. I got 13 of both the lock and flat washers, so am I to assume I'm suppose to use them in all steps whether it's shown in the diagram or not. To add further to the confusion, I watched a youtube video where the person showed adding the washers to all bolts.Update: After continuing with the assembly, I encounter a couple of more issues with the instruction. In order to install the spring tines, you have to remove the hitch arm. Also, the axle bracket does not have the angle cut displayed in the diagram. And lastly, the axle bracket is too short to reach the angle brackets causing the axle bracket to bend in the middle to get it to fit. I suggest the manufacture review and correct the assembly instructions going forward.Last thing I want to say about assembly might be an issue when I try it out for the first time. Figure 9 in the instruction has the lift handle reversed from the picture on the front of the booklet. The picture on the front is how my assembly ended up. From all the issues I had with this, I would not recommend buying this item unless you're willing to deal with the headaches.
