A few observations regarding this product.Pros:1) Delivery was fast for this product.2) Accurate in describing the quality of the steel.3) Steel is suitable to weld.Cons:1) Handlers of this 4" wide x 4" long x 1/2" thick used a shear to cut this material to size which causes the edges being sheared to curl (or warp) by at least 3/16". There are 2 of the 4 edges affected by the shear and was sheared in opposite directions which causes the steel plate to form an "S" shape usually caused by dull shear knives.2) As a result of the shearing process, in order to flatten the steel plate, a mill was used. To correct the "S" shape, it was necessary to remove a portion of the steel plate thus reducing the size of the plate to 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" x 3/8".3) Extra effort was necessary to prepare the steel for production use.Final Comments:If the cutting process of the steel was disclosed up front, the decision to purchase from this source would be a definite "No". Such a simple bit of information should be included in the description UNLESS the seller is trying to hide something.
