I wanted the other reviews to be wrong or old, but the ones I got were at least 50% garbage, just some light pulling and they broke.

not 304 stainless steel wire, a magnet will stick to it easily even through the rubber coating but for what I needed them, I was stripping the rubber off the end. Tested it and the whole lanyard will hang off the magnet. also as the other review pointed out, seems like the crimper is not correct. The one I tested held but you can see it cleaned the rubber off and since it is not actually 304 SS it will probably rust.

I got these for a trip and tested two of them by pulling with about 10lbs of force and the ends popped off. The cable inside at the ends is either damaged from the crimping process or something else is wrong.A cable this thick should not pull apart and if you look where it ripped above, the cable is perfectly cut flush, so I think the manufacturer crimped the cable onto premade cable loop ends and did not use one continuous cable.
